The actors are wonderful, but they've really hammed it in the wrong direction. But if they are any indication of the others in the cast, they are going to do on this translation.

Because I know that the proliferation of the Anti-social/emo kid archtype will continue unabated. I have a perception of Kurosaki in my head, and in the 30-so seconds of that youtube video my mental image was nigh on destroyed. After watching it I thought ''Oh...Fuck... not again.'' I see and hear enough angsty emos around me without feeling the need to expirence that feeling in one of my prefered animes.

I think you're reaching like dhalsim. Who says Jonny Young Bosch will make Kurosake Ichigo some emo plaything? I seriously doubt that will the be the case, similar to naruto though, but trying to assume that a voice will be an outcry to the emo subculture is quite a reach and an unfair comparison

But can you imagine Renji, Hitsugaya or Byakuya having their characteristics preserved in the voice acting. Renji will be given a sub-standard American voice actor, Hitsugaya will sound like a damn kid, losing the credibility afforded to him as a Captain. And God forbid Byakuya is given and upper class english accent. Now this may not be how this turns out, but I fear that this will turn out badly. Some things should just be left alone.

how about we wait and see if it will be good or bad. But sharing preconceived ideals and notions, no matter how well the voice actors do you will never be satisfied. Close minded no?

However Michelle Ruff does an excellent job as Rukia, and that is just from a promo which impresses me. Heck how far has she come from the GTO dub as Urumi Kanzaki?

By the way, most VAs from viz are taken from East Side companies, and most East side dubbing companies get excellent talent (see bang! zoom and animaze to see what I mean)

Given Renji's importance to the storyline and the fact that they gave Ichigo a damned good actor(even if he isn't necessarily the "absolute best" for the role... whatever that means), Renji will probably have an actor of equal calibur(I'm thinking they'll perhaps get the guy who played Spike from cowboy beebop, or perhaps the guy who played Kazuma in Scryed). Byakuya will probably not have a british accent. I somehow imagine the person who did the voice of Jin in Samurai champloo doing the english version of Byakuya... even so, they'll find someone who does a good voice for him... and if he does have an English high accent, it will be for no other reason than the actor being British, and if they cast Byakuya with such and actor, It's an even chance that man will have a Sir before his name, and his character will most likely NOT have that accent, even though it's the actor's natural accent.

Yeah, but only if they got Christopher Lambert to play Ukitake. lolzorz. I doubt the whole budget the've got for it is enough to hire one of them for even one episode. Yama Jii though has few enough lines, that a big celebrity might be affordable.
