i personally think that carbuncle is the best because he/she/its sooooooo cute!! but the strongest summon is either ZERObahamut (ff7) eden (ff8) ark (ff9) OR magus sisters - Cindy Sandy Mindy - (ff10)

I like Bahamut ZERO and Neo Bahamut, but i just voted Bahamut. The FF8 Bahamut is my favorite of the entire series tho.

bahamut is awsome except FFX's version wasnt a big fan of the wheel on his back, closely followed by pheonix

i liked ffx's version (he was a bit fat though and he didnt really fly) but well...

I worship Bahamut in any and all shapes, forms, and incarnations he appears in the series. FF9's is my sentimental favorite, and I love the way it ties into Dagger's story.

But I also have a big soft spot for FF6's Phoenix. Locke was the first to learn all of its spells. Once I was done training my Chosen Five with its spells, it went back to Locke, and never left him again. ;)

My favorites are easily Doomtrain, Odin, and Bahamut.

Odin annoyed me really. Theres the monster I've been searching for that has 'X' item when 'card' is used. then Odin appears-> instant death--> pissed off.

I loved Carbuncle and it's little cute peeking out of a hole, and it's cute dive back in. It was simple but oh so cute.

hmm, i'd say the Bahamut.

As I expected, Bahamut is in the lead. It's my favorite summon because of its non-elemental attacks, meaning it will do the same damage against any opponent, while that is a downfall to fire- and water-based summons like Ifrit and Shiva. Bahamut is usually the most powerful as well, so it is better to summon than Ramuh, who could do about the same amount of damage as Bolt3.

Isn't Alexander, when it's available as a summon, more powerful as Bahamut, usually? (although both can be considered as ultimate summons)

Alexander is a Holy-based elemental, so I sort of took into account that it is weak against Holy monsters and strong against Dark monsters. It also hasn't been in as many FF games as Bahamut. =)

My favorite would be Yojimbo and Cactuar! They have cool summoning sequences which makes the game fun.

im not sure whether i liked odin or not... i liked the bit on ff8 though when you fight seifer on disc3 and odin gets killed by him... but when gilmamish comes out with odin sword and says "you gave me the fifth" or something like that i dont really understand what he means...

He means the fifth sword, as Gilgamesh uses one of five swords to attack opponents, Zantetsuken being the fifth and last sword that Gilgamesh Acquires

i think odin after the events of ff8 i found that summon to be the most interesting,plus i think the design and animation of odin is usually cool,though i also like the forms of bahumat
Yea Odin was pretty cool the horse hoof beats and that cowbell followed by japanese symbols all around a great show.

Funny thing about that battle it should be called the battle of the sorceress knight trio Odin was also a soceress' knight as was Squall.

i never knew odin was a sorceress' knight... how did you find that out?

JFTR, this poll sucks, as FF staples like Odin, Alexander, Golem, and Titan (and probably a few others) are missing, in favor of the Magus Sisters (only in FFX) and Fenrir, which to my knowledge, is only in two FF's (VI and IX).

Mine is Palidor from FF6, truly lethal when matched with the correct armour.

Bahamut because he is usually the strongest summon.

and carbuncle because it looks cute and its reflact all is very useful against powerful magical enemys.

I agree with Bryan. Summons that appear in 1 game shouldnt be in the poll at all. Bahamut ftw!

But some of the ones that appear in one game are the best! Carbuncle ... It's so cute!

My vote went for other as I think Alexander is the best Summon in the game and he has been left off the list, For some pointless Summon who rarely appears.

I really like Bahamut and Alexander. Even before FFIX, I liked them both. After IX, they are my faves.
