Love Sits Atop the Horizon

Let's rhyme these reasons
So I can squeeze them out of my head for you
In a pretty sonnet, or exquisite prose
Watch how beautifully these words flow
As I adorn my demons with a thorned rose

I have this suitcase
Eternally packed
Waiting for the right way
To appear exact
Because I want to see a pathway cutting through the haze
A trip into the distance of a summertime display
I'll settle for exhaustion, for my peace when I arrive
At this equidistant place where the ground meets the sky.

I know she waits there
Eternally aware
Sensing my arrival
Floats in the air
She wants to see my shadow shimmering through the mist
Reach the point of no return in her chemical abyss
She'll hold my lifeless limbs, and then we'll both get our reply
At that equidistant place where the ground meets the sky

I'm moving forward, but my steps aren't taking me anywhere
That fabled place keeps re-inventing itself
I know love sits in the horizon
Thorned roses all around...

Endlessly walking on the pathway cut through the haze
As this quest into the distance of the summertime display
Shifts me into exhaustion, I have to fight for my life
Or I won't reach the equidistant place where the ground meets the sky

Consider these reasons rhymed
Did you enjoy the beauty of complex thoughts?
Spurned out in a verbose poem
My words emerged in this paradox
Where the thorned rose halos roam.
