I'd blame it in the fuckers and their inability to run anything without creating pages of rules intended to make it unenjoyable. I knew this would happen after hearing that they banned booth babes, and even demanding that the police arrest Kasey for a Wonder Woman outfit, damn man that suit was accepted in the 70's.

actually,if youre a journalist you can get in,i think the requirement is that you have to have at least three published articles within a year prior to the event to get in

also,E3 will still be around,to an extent

Why would Sony be behind it more than anyone else?

Anyway I couldn't care less about this because E3 is stupid.

Meh, i`m not too depressed by this news. Perhaps changing E3 and making it smaller would probably be for the best. I`d imagine it costs quite a lot to hold this event even for the developers and publishers concerned. So i guess we`ll wait and see how it turns out. Maybe E3 on a smaller scale won`t be so bad.

No really I'm actually curious. I mean if this is really the only reason I'm not that surprised, but I'm gonna give you guys the benefit of the doubt and assume you're not just pulling more blind Sony hate out of your butts.

because of the amount of money they spent on this year's E3 compared to the reaction they got from the gaming industry in general ?_?

E3-E3 Media Festival (http://pspupdates.qj.net/E3-Morphs-into-E3-Media-Festival/pg/49/aid/60440)

I guess we`ll wait and see how it turns out but thank god those tacky "booth babes" are gone.

I don't see how that makes any kind of sense. If getting a good reaction at E3 is indeed a sound investment, then it would be in their best interest to try to get a good reaction next year and keep it the same, not to shut it down. It's not like they can make back any of what they lost by ending the show.

I'd be willing to wager the only company who really benefitted from E3 this year is Nintendo, and they usually don't either. All companies spend ridiculous amounts of money on it and it probably became a ridiculous way to advertise years ago. It could be Sony behind it, but it could just as easily be any of the other huge companies that have sunk millions of dollars into a glorified technology orgasm for the past decade or so, or all of them.

i think the insane amount of spoofs Sony got to endure after their e3 presentation would have contributed regardless
they know they failed this year
