anywho...theres something bugging me and I need to figure it out. Ok so I need to know what the name of the world is for FF8. If you know please tell me so i have closure!

If I'm not mistaken it is never mentioned. It is just refured to as "the world" or "the planet".
Though I could be wrong.

because if it is called Terra then I found a small connection between FF8 and FF9 i guess its not that important but now im really curious.

FFIX is known for it many references to previous Final Fantasy games. You could find as many connections as you want, but they're still entirely different universes.

Cornsey's right, and if you think that a reference denotes a connection between the worlds, then FFIX is connected with Star Trek, and the doctor in Lindblum is Bones McCoy.

no i dont mean actually in the game but in disc 3 in Oeilvert when you learn about the history of Terra it has a little section on seeds

I don't see how there's any relation. Seeds isn't spelled "SeeDs" and it simply refers to the vessels, the seeds for the founding of their planet, basically. I suppose it's possible, but I really doubt it's any sort of reference. And even if it is, here's why --- Final Fantasy IX is chock-full of references to past FF games and other games and elements of pop-culture. Simply loaded with them. It doesn't mean they're actually in any way connected. And I again, verify, Final Fantasy VIII's world has no stated name, never, at any time.

I remember reading that it was called Gaia/Gaea, not sure which spelling it was...

Gaia was the name of one of the planets in FFIX. But I don't recall ever seeing anything referring to it as Gaia in FFVIII and unless somebody can reference a script or some other reasonably authentic document on the Internet that specifies a name, I will continue to believe that it has no official one.
