*sight* Let me get this out of the way first: I bought the games a few days ago, it has been working perfectly up until now. My comp. specs are:
AMD 64x2 duel processer
1 gig of ram
Nvidia Geforce 6100

On disc one, on your first true SeeD mission where you have to hijack the "presidents" train, as Squall when I go down to reach the input device to dis-connect the transport train, FF8 just shuts down and I get the message: "Final Fantazy VIII has unexpectatly quit, would you like to report the problem"

I have tried multiple times on different graphics settings or sound settings to get it to work but no dice, any advice?

To be honest, we can only make suggestions. There is no possible way to knowing what the problem may be.
Maybe, because FF8 is old it's just a problem with your new hardware and the game conflicting.

that's what I worried about, I guess I'll have to start all over on my other computer :(

Yeah, try your other computer. Final Fantasy VIII is an old game for the PC --- truth be told, it just may not like your snazzy, relatively newish hardware.

Incidentally, I have the PC version and if you have trouble with that point on your other computer, I could try to pass you through that point and hope things are smooth sailing from there.

ok, nevermind I got it working. I had to change the compatibility mode to get it to work.

'K. If any other problems arise, just let me know and I'll get you the details on the process of sending the save.
