I would say it is as gun-like as the Revolver.

Fan art has a tendency of being inaccurate.

Like SquallxZell pics, for example.

the reason it doesn't have a barrel is because there is no barrel on the origional either. There are two types of gunblades, alpha and beta. Betas (like squall's) have no barrel or place to hold bullets alphas do, as for the handle, I don't know.

Both gunblades can hold bullets. I'm just guessing the Hyperion as a clip. Otherwise, what's the use of a gunblade if you can only use the blade?

Did Squall or Seifer actually fired any bullets from the gunblades? I thought the trigger was just to enhance the attacking power.

In the intro movie when Seifer attacks Squall, you hear a gunshot. And the reason your attack power is increased is obviously because of pulling the trigger and you can also hear a gunshot from this too.

I never really noticed they were firing bullets, I suppose.

Well, it is FF we're talking about, so they might not be using the kinds of bullets that we use in the real world.

IDX Rider is right, it is FF, they are completely different from the real world, so you need to think of sumthing besides little cylinder like bullets, try like an energy blast coming from the tip of the blade whne you pull the trigger, you know it's like this saying I heard a while back "the hard part is not creating new ideas, it's escaping from old one's" think about it!
