Is obtaining Gippal's sphere necessary for achieving 100%? Ive got 98% at the moment and its the only thing i can think of that i haven't done.

No, in fact, if you're trying to get 100% completion in one playthrough (something I absolutely, wholeheartedly do not recommend because it's so, so much easier to just pick up extra percentage on a second playthrough by giving the Awesome Sphere to whichever group you didn't give it to before), then you absolutely should not have Gippal's Sphere. Having Gippal's Sphere means that you got an Episode Concluded instead of Episode Complete for the Mi'ihen Highroad which a.) Robs you of the percentage gained by watching the scenes for pinning Rikku and b.) Prevents you from getting Mascot dressphere, robbing you of that percentage.



Seriously, if you made it up to 98% and you're straining to figure out where you missed some percentage, my advice is don't. Just start a New Game Plus, give the Awesome Sphere to the other group and make sure to complete the other Perfect Ending requirements within that playthrough (meet with Maechen in Chapter 3, do the whistling at the end of Chapter 3, whistle for the fayth after Chapter 5 Complete and answer yes to its question.)

Hey you need to give the awesome sphere to Youth League to get 100% thats what I read anyway. and did you finish Via infinto (i dunno how to spell it)

What you read is accurate if and only if you're bound and determined to get 100% in one playthrough.
