I kinda Confused with this subject. I mean is it a love story? And with which girl? Ashe or Penelo? Ive seen screenshots were there both close to vaan.

i got the impression Vaan and Penelo are friends at the start of the game. So i think it's more likely Ashe is the main love interest.

In most final fantasy games the main male and female leads are usually the ones that get together.

I don't get why you guys are assuming it's goign to be with Ashe. I know that it would fit the pattern well, but the people at square-enix have been implying very stongly that there isn't going to be a romance between Vaan and Ashe, not just with them flat out saying there isn't going to be one(it's one of their selling points in Japan.) but with art and trailers implying that Ashe is already married. Plus I think Vaan is probably Ashe's brother or half brother. Even kings have affairs that they don't inform anyone of. Afterall, in FFT it was strongly implied that Ramza and Delita were half brothers if not brothers. Delita's mother was taken as a mistress to Lord Balbanes before Delita was ever born. They also spoke of Delita's and Ramza's mothers, as if they are the same person. The stylistic similarities between the storylines make it more plausible for Vaan and Ashe to be siblings than lovers, but admitedly make it possible for both.

Its been said a couple times that Vaan and Penelo are a couple, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.

Ashe has a boyfriend or husband at the beginning of the game, if you watch the trailers, but he dies. So I'm not really sure how a relationship between Vaan and Ashe would develop, unless Penelo is like "Oh sure, go ahead"

I seriously think that the relationship between Vaan and Ashe will probalby be at a different level than that of lovers, perhaps one that makes being lovers out of the question, or at least problematic. Or they might not even have a relationship to each other, and may perhaps only be in the same group by circumstance. Then again, most ff parties start like that at first, but develop relationships between the characters as the story progresses though. So it's really all open until we buy our own copies of the game and play it.

And most people out there hope to see something more than a kiss...

actually i saw the enghlish trailer and at the end of it the man who died at tha end he comes back and till now am playing the japanese version theres nothing between any one just that penelo is kinda vans little sister thats it but iidont know wy will happen next

Meybe there would be just nothing. Imean, from 7 to 10 (all the 3D ones) there are love stories. They may wanted to change this. (anw this is not the reason i would buy a ff anyway ;))

but the love stories are good. at least X's is (and VIII t a close second). that's one of the reasons i love FFs

Im not saying a love story is not interesting, but look at 6. There is no love story between the playable characters, but its still one of my favourite ffs (and rpgs) i have played.

What are you talking about?! it's always clear who's gonna fall in love will who. Yuna and Tidus? no brainer (and one of the best love stories, imo). Squall and Rinoa? becomes clear really quickly, although there was some confusion with quistis. Zidane and Garnet? come on. who else would it be, Freya?

I liked the love angle in Xenogears -- it went farther than a kiss -- implying much more -- so Square should learn from that then and give us a true love angle that goes all the way -- with implications (I understand kids play games too :( )

ok just a thought but has anyone ever considered Fran and Vaan or a possible ff7 scheme the love triangle approach i mean think about it Tif was clouds childhood friend yet she kept her feelings to herself (until Aeris came into the picture kinda) or the possible Ashe is devastated by her husbands death she longs to protect Vaan and try to keep him safe in a non-paramoric (non-lover) way just a thought but watch all the trailers and let me know what u thnk m'kay Shwiggity Shwiggity Shwah signin out
