I love listening to battle music, it really gets you pumped up to do stuff.....so, what's the best?

Some of the best stuff comes from shooters and fighters......go figure.

probably my fav. battle theme is the fanmade final battle remake in SEGA FANTASY VI (google it, i highly recommend it).

then, search through the people who made the music (some original, some fan made). credits go to the fanmade ffvi boss battle in that flash. IT ROCKS!

well, another good battle theme (not final, but its nice) its the theme vs the fusion of all dragons in chrono cross (forgot his name.. long time i havent played the game.. but i believe its track 11 in the OST -cd3-)

AH, of course.. how could i forget it? another GREAT battle theme is dance of illusions, from castlevania rondo of blood, dracula x, SOTN, dawn of sorrow and others.

Jenova last form battle theme-FFVII

I liked the battle theme when you face Saddler in Resident Evil 4 and the final Jenova battle theme in FFVII. I also liked the final battle theme in Xenosaga I and the theme in FFX when you have to kill the aeons off one by one.

Just the multiplayer helped it along, if you had that.

The OST was pretty good, mostly relaxing in areas.

In FF CC, when you entered a stage you got that god mother f*cking damn story about it. I broke the FF: CC disk at that point that's how much it pissed me off.

I agree. Romancing Saga music really rocked. VP: Lenneth boss battle music was rockin. GH actually hosts Motoi Sakuraba Live in Concert. The VP boss theme is AMAZING. Be sure to check that out if you're a big fan. Saruin battle...that's from SaGa as well but I've never played it. I guess I should stop being ignorant and learn japanese so I can play it. Good suggestions!

Yeah, anything with Sakuraba's name on it rocks... except maybe his Tales stuff. Always thought he was half-asleep when he wrote that stuff. But anyway, try "In Order to Acquire the Light in that Hand" from VP2. Definitely one of the best Final Battle tracks ever. (Well, its the "battle before last battle" track, but still...)

jonecobb, have you played VP: Silmeria? I haven't yet and I'd like to hear how it is compared to the first one. I don't trust gamefaqs ever since I was banned from there.

Unfortunately, not yet. I hope to make the time to buy it soon. For now, all I have is the OST (which is spectacular). Sounds like it's worth checking out, though.

Agreed: I saw the trailers and it seemed tactical: you move your 4 units into position, then use combos like in the first one...fantastic.

Not a battle as such, but definitely what you would at least class as, "good" indeed - track 12 off Earthworm Jim 2, which you can download right off this site!
Then there is the final battle music for MGS 1 - versus Liquid in the jeep whilst escaping. Awesome music.

The closest track I could find was Promised Plan. It was not bad but it reminded me of Liberi Fatali. This, unfortunately, is a track that really has power if you play the game. I have never played a Xenosaga ever since I heard it had nothing to do with Xenogears.

Trauma Center: Second Opinion. It's great; the last battle, not so great.

The Grandia series has some good battle music. I think it's composed by Noriyuki Iwadare. And Motoi Sakuraba has some good stuff somebody already said that though.

I really liked that final destination track on tales of symphonia...it's the final battle music. It starts off with a really slow organ for a while, then it goes to guitar and rapes you with a meatball sandwich

Maybe I'm a Lion and Dark Messenger are two of my favorites, even if the battles generally didn't last long enough for me to hear much of them. ATB >:/
