I do listen to rock I guess, but it's a far to general term and is a pretty shit description of what I listen to, anyway all I said was the bands you listed are shit, not the genre.

As for house, I did say it didn't exist but only to provoke this retared reaction, I also called it really really shit and that is still valid.

This is such a redundant insult but again just to humour you, I have a life as does everyone who is living and people who are now dead once had one of these too. If you mean it in the sense that I am anti social or something, I'm not really. I don't have tonnes of friends but I have a small group of people I am extremely close to and like a lot and I feel that is better than having a massive group of people you barely know. I'm pretty approachable, admittedly I'm quiet but not necessarily shy and at this point in time I am the most content I have ever been with life, I'm going through a massive period of being generally happy and every time I expect it to end, it just continues. It's pretty awesome.

It's pretty fantastic and I'd probably have it in my top 10 albums. I've listened to it straight through three times I think and although right now I'm listening to Boogadaboogadaboogada I might put it on again in a while, if only for it being immeasurably more refined. Not that Boogadaboogadaboogada is a bad album but it becomes a little grating with frequent listening, which is no doubt a product of recording an album with no money. But back to Not Economically Viable, I'd heard Bored of Television, Mess We Made, Sorry To Keep You Waiting and Transistor Radio before and thought that all 4 were fantastic and one of the things I was most apprehensive about was that the rest of the album might be crappy. Thankfully I was wrong and it is a really great album, I might even prefer it to Total, but I'll leave that judgement until I've had it for a little longer.

Well like I said, I'll reserve judgement on the Total-Not Economically Viable comparision until I've owned it for a little longer, right now I think it's a fantastic album, I think Total is a fantastic album but making a definitive judgement on an album after having owned it for a day is bad practice imo, so yeah. As for hoping they release a new album soon, here I have an advantage. I still have two Methadones' albums to buy, the Riverdales' albums and lots of Screeching Weasel and that's just stuff involving Dan Vapid, there's plenty more of this Pop!Punk! and stuff I would like to buy, not least the Lillingtons. When I get fully caught up with this Pop!Punk! genre, which I'm hoping should only take 2-3 years, then I'll be more excited for new releases. And with the long bout of silence thing, I've learned, after only really getting into the genre in the past 5 months iirc, that a lot of bands just disappear without ever officially breaking up and I certainly hope that this isn't the case with the Methadones =(

I might start up a livejournal but then again, I know absolutely no one in real life with one, so it would be a pretty lonely friends list =( Although now seems to be an ideal time to start one as I've been a lot more contemplative of late and it would be good to get some of these thoughts on paper, I formed an opinion on something recently and I really liked my conclusions and now I've forgotten some of it. Whatever the case, I will tell you what I think of your top 5 through some form or another, and would I be correct in guessing Total and Pipe Dreams are included?

My Brain Hurts will be the next Screeching Weasel album I get! I was listening to Boogada today and I feel like I appreciated it a lot more. Since I got last years reissue there is sleeve notes from Jughead and Ben and some of Jughead's stories are really funny, Ben on the other hand seems as though he didn't give a shit whenever he was interviewed are whatever so his comments are generally brief. But he does say that he had no control over his vocals when Boogada was recorded and that he feels that their later work was better. That goes a long way to summarising my thoughts on the album and what snippets I have heard from their later work. And I've probably just recounted something you are well aware of, but anyway.

Yeah, that is a pox on this genre, but it's just a symptom of little to no coverage since it's so secluded. I'm pretty sure it would be impossible for the Methadones to do that even if they wanted to though because they're one of the few who are big enough that someone will naturally seek them out and tell the world.

Yeah Ben is actually kind of a dick. You can tell in almost everything he writes, but then there's also stuff like him being too lazy to let a small band cover a Screeching Weasel song on their album because there wasn't enough money in it for him to get his fat ass off his couch for five minutes. All he does now is (rarely) update his blog talking about all the things he's sort of doing but not really, and pretend that he will ever make good music again.

Jughead seems to be a swell guy though & he's doing some of the best work of his career in <a href=http://www.eveninblackouts.net/>Even In Blackouts</a> right now.

We're kinda travelling in circles here aren't we! This is the only thing that is relatively new and I'll take the time to dispute it. One time I was allowed to borrow Push the Button and I can safely say the Chemical Brothers are shit. Galvanize is such a bad song =(


Jughead seems to be a swell guy though & he's doing some of the best work of his career in Even In Blackouts (http://www.eveninblackouts.net) right now.
