Blitzball free agent location question

I just got out of Luca and am currently on the Mi'ihen highroad.

I've been looking through various places for good blitzball free agents and I can't seem to find one I'm looking for.

I'm looking for Kiyuri, but I can't find her. I've checked around the internet and they all say she is on the S.S. Winno deck.

The problem is that when I go to Luca's harbor on dock 2 (I think that's where the S.S. Winno is), access to the boat is blocked by a guy who says "the ferry will be anchored for a while".

It seems like I don't have access to the boat and therefore Kiyuri at this time. Maybe later on in the game I will be able to board the S.S. Winno but I don't want to wait.

I want to get her now so I can develop her with the rest of my team.

So am I looking in the wrong place or do I have to to wait til later on in the game to get her.

Where is she, can someone help me out?

Just wait a little while. Once you get access to the Airship thats the time to go searching. You can really develope your team then.

I'll tell you who's the best in my opinion on the game, and you can get him straight away in Luca.

Quite true. Who do you guys use for goalie? I ended up using Jamal since there are so few people that actually have decent goalie skills.

Its been a while since I played, but i think I often changed between Yuma Guado and Keepa in goals.

Durren as Goalie

Na I use the AlBhed Goalie on my one, she is well ahead of everyone on my game, cant remember her name though

I've used nearly all the best goalies. Durren and the Al Bhed's goalie are probably the best of them. Miyu and Jamal are pretty decent. When you get to the higher levels (say around 60+), Wedge becomes one of the best goalies.

He's outfield on my one, and my best player outfield aswell, so how can he play in goal?

Wedge is by far the best player.as he levels up you can nearly put him anywhere.Nimrook is the best goalie(Al bhed one).Jumal is good for the start though.Anyone use the original team?

And on my main one I have'nt got the original team but on my other ones I have.
I think the best player on the Besaid team was Botta. (Not including Tidus)

I think its because as the players develop, they become more skilled for one position, then grow a bit more to become more skilled in another. Wedge, I think, can work his way down the field from forward to goals simply by gaining levels. (if that made sense I'll be shocked!!)

I've never proven this though, but a friend did and he had players who start off in one position, then by time they were lvl 60 or 70, (mine are only lvl 30 ish), they could play in a completely different position

I use the original team usually except I replace Datto with Nedus and Letty with Zev Ronso

The only original members I use are Tidus and Jassu. Well, that is if you don't count Wakka as an original member too.

Datto's got pretty good endurance though. Better than Tidus's

I've never put Tidus on the bench, whether there is somebody on the bench better than him or not. In my opinion, his Jecht Shot ability is too good to be wasted on the bench!

You can still have Datto and Tidus playing at the same time.

Its also bloody expensive for hp and if he isnt high in hp, you use it once and he becomes just another john doe playing football in a bath. It also takes ages as well. Thats why I prefer Nedus, he may be slow, but after a bit of training, he becomes a bloody good shot and often outperforms tidus in many of my leagues/tournaments

I always use Tidus and Wedge up front with Brother playing midfield. Wedge is pretty fast compared to most teams except for the Guado Glories and the Al Bhed Psyches so he can easily avoid encounters and get quick goals.

When I use Datto, I place him in Brother's position. Though, today I got rid of him, Botta, Letty, and Keepa for Wedge, Brother, Wakka, and Miyu. I'm using Miyu as a goalie; she's a pretty good goalie, definitely not the best, though.

Yeah, you're right. I normally use Sphere Shot until he has enough HP too perform at least three Jecht Shots a half. I've tried Nedus before. When I did, Tidus was already at level 25, and Nedus was only 5. So, I didn't keep him long. I'll have to try him next time I reset my stats.

I never really worry about encounters unless they're against the ronso, But then i just speed around them with a defender or tidus, pray to Yevon that Nedus is near the goals and pass to him and shoot. But usually, Nedus can hold his own in an encounter.

Blappa's a really good player in the later stages aswell.
He has a really high Shot and Endurance number, making him a perfect foward

I've never been able to get any of the other teams original members except for the Kilika Beasts. Once, though, I got Bickson, which is pretty bizarre considering he's the Goers team captain. I bet the sparks flew during that one, lol!

Blappa, he's one of the Psyches isnt he? I'm not so fond of the Psyches

You just have to wait ages for the team to get bored with the player and they'll not renew the contract, I dont think that hteres a concept of captainage in blitzball other than Wakkas claims at being captain

Something I always find amusing in X's Blitzball is the fact that if you sack every auroch, you could end up playing a team that is effectively just the Aurochs with a different name. never happened to me yet cos I've never sacked all the aruochs, but it could........

I've had that happen to me once. I sacked everyone of the original players. The Kilika Beasts dropped all their players except for Vuroja and got every last one of them. It did make for an easy game, though. But, they eventually wised up and got rid of all the Aurochs. They even recruited Brother, whom I had accidentally forgotten to recruit. I had a bit of tough time beating them from then on.

Its a pretty good team, lvls from 20 to 30 ish and I beat everyone, most of the time

Na I aint lost in about 50 matches. Gets boring after a while if you dont have any competition. And my players levels are about 45-50, except that Wedge is on about 60. I dunno why that is, I think its because he gets the ball all the time

it probably is. Tidus on mine can get ridiculusly high exp at times, and I often pass the ball to the crappy players just so that they can get some, even if they end up losing the ball 5 seconds later, although i think the goalie gets points anyway

The really annoying thing is that my goalie was exceptionally good when I first got him, but because my team is really good, he very rarely gets shot at, so he recieves little or no exp.
Now he is on like level 35, which is way behind everyone else

I have only lost one game since I first started playing FFX, and that was during the tournament against the Luca Goers in the final match when I played it for the first time. Not that I'm bragging or anything.

I could never do that

I did it because I wanted to get some of the good players. I could've done it without reseting it, but it would've been too hard to get them evenly leveled up to the opposing teams. I had hardly even leveled Wedge or Brother up any. They were only about 20, while everybody else including the other teams were up in the 40's. So, I reset it.

I got lucky, though. When I looked at what I could participate in. I had a league where 1st place wins Status Reels and top scorer wins Jecht Shot 2 and a tournament where 1st place wins Tech Find. So, I'll have Tidus with Jecht Shot 2 pretty soon.

By the way, do either of you know what Jecht Shot 2 does?

I believe Ject Shot 2 knocks of three opponents and makes the ball invisible - I think you get to control the ball manually.

I actually played BlitzBall today and I actually found the Jecht 2 shot today. But I couldnt get the shot for some reason when I won the tournament. Bollocks

I think the problem might be that you don't have the tech slot open yet. If you get a Tech Find and open the Jecht Shot 2 tech slot, you may be able to get it.

As for me, I couldn't even open the tech slot for Jecht Shot 2 with the Tech Find I got. It said that the tech slot was unavailable. Probably because Tidus isn't levelled up enough yet.

Do you reckon I can get another opportunity at getting the Jecht Shot 2 again?
