My FF song that i will never forget is Final Fantasy X's To Zanarkand. It is a masterpiece and each note has been thoughtfully woven into this thread of melodic paradise. Also i can play it on the piano weee ^_^.

Though FF7's cinco de chocobo (the chocobo's theme) comes really close wif its super cute and super catchy chorus. Dum di Dum di dum di doo di doo~~~ di doo dum di doo dum... di dum dum dum di doo~~~~~~ lol

I found the "Hymn of Fyth" a good listen for the first 2 times, but because of the 3 hundred billion arrangements by Hamauzu, it kinda got dull :D

I think it has to be Faye Wong's 'Eyes On Me'. Still touches me everytime i listen to it. Faye's a very popular singer where i came from so it became quite popular when the song was out.

ff6 - the decisive battle, cus its so fun to play on the piano i play it at double speed almost every day on the piano......the result is skinny, purple, worn boney hands.......people, dont get addicted to fast songs

I`d have to say "Compression of time" from FFVIII. Because even to this day i feel very emotional when i hear it. I think it`s because it`s probably the most atmospheric FF track in my opinion and that it suited the somber build up to the end of the game itself. I remember hearing for the first time and being totaly blown away. Not only was that part in the game art in motion, the track in question fit it like a glove.

In my opinion, the greatest video game music track ever. ;)

Technically, they are called compositions, but then again, you can argue that "Eyes on Me" is a composition (which it rightfully is). So it doesn't really matter what you use. At the risk of sounding cliched I'm going to cast my vote towards Aeris' theme. Probably in part influenced by the fact it's played at a critical part of the game and thereafter whenever some sad moment arises, but I still think it's nice. Close second to Ahead on our way, the song from Kalm. Can't get enough from that sucker. And if you'll let me have a third, Balamb Garden. Nice atmosphere creator, and I spent so much time in garden that it's forever immortalised in my head x.x

FFT's Antidote is rather memorable.

FFT's Character Introductions was a very inspiring introduction movie track.

FF4's Mystic Mysidia is really catchy until it hurts...

FF4's Troian Beauty, particularly the Celtic Moon version happens to be one of the most graceful tunes, albeit a somewhat simple looping melody.

As for Faye Wong's Eyes On Me, I think it's a decent song, though it's very much in the realm of sappy contemporary. Don't get me wrong though, I think she's a great artist and has done better work (and I do own a few of her albums).

FF6's Slam Shuffle is also memorable to me, though there are probably better songs in that game.

Though I never played it, the Chocobo's Dungeon orchestrated tracks are also very well done.

I think that's enough suggestions for now...

FF7's boss theme, unofficially dubbed "Still More Fighting" for God knows how long. I still call it that so I can differentiate between it and "Those Who Fight Further" on the Black Mages album, but since the Black Mages version doesn't technically count, I gotta go with Still More Fighting. Yeah baby!

Actually "eyes on me" was a musical score, not a compositon.(composition is music written on paper, score is midi "musical instrument digital interface" transformed into audio by using samplers of actual musical instuments.) created on cubase sx, whilst using reason in conjunction with cubase for windows(none of this mac bullshit!:)). Its a beautiful song that really captures
the feeling at the time!

Boss themes are usually one of the first songs of any game that get dedicated to my memory, because they always sound so awesome. So on that note, the FF songs I will never forget are:

I'd count myself lucky if I could forget the Chocobo theme. On a note more in unison with the topic's intentions, however...

Terra's/Tina's Theme from FFVI is awe inspiring. It's one of those songs that is best in its original format... I have yet to hear a remixed/remastered/re-anything version that even approaches the original.

I suppose I'll never forget the feel of the music in FFTactics (sort of this dark, epic theme that fit really well with the game), but I can't remember any specific songs... Ovelia's Worries, is a pretty good one, I suppose.

You know, I think it's scary that after 4 pages of favourite songs, no one's mentioned the Prologue; which remains probably the best song in the entire series, despite not being used nearly as often in the later series...

As for one game songs, IMO you'd be hard-pressed to find a song that sounds better than Within The Giant.

The Crystal Theme.(FFIV, VII main theme) The Chocobo songs. (All versions have never sucked.) FF VI Overworld theme.(World of Light also called Tina) The battle music in FF VIII when controlling Laguna. The end credit music.

It's kind of a hard answer there are so many memorable songs from final fantasy series. I'll go with Clash on the big bridge-ff5 and dark messenger-ff9. Although I might have said one-winged angel, I think that's probably a given or said too much.

I like Liberi Fatali, Searching for Friends, Dancing mad, Battle with Gilgamesh, J-E-N-O-V-A... there are too many xD!

Each soundtracks have certain songs that carries a certain amount of importance to me.

Interrupted by Fireworks from FFVII is perhaps one of the best songs on the entire soundtrack, and although overrated, Aeris' Theme is another one of the songs I find exceptionally good. The Flow of Life is yet another masterpiece, and so is the Main Theme of the game.

Ami, Julia's Piano, Fragments of Memories and Eyes on Me are the only standout tracks on that album for me. I'm not saying that I find the other songs boring, but many of them are pretty bland if you ask me.

FFIX's soundtrack is just exceptional.

That's one question I believe that no one can truely answer immediately. I do have a lot of favorites, though.

FFVI: Tina's Theme. A mysterious piece that's somber, but speaks of determination. The ingame version was terrific, but I absolutely love the orchestrated version from the 20020202 concert. The muisc for the Opera bits are incredible, and the fact they pulled it off on the SNES (in spite of its limits) is simply staggering.

FFVII: J-E-N-O-V-A, Fiddle de Chocobo, the victory theme, Crazy Motorcyle are just a few I can think of at the moment. Many of the themes add to what can be sumed up as a tour de force in my opinion.

FFIX: Feel my blade, Protecting my devotion, Cid's Theme, Melodies of Life. MoL was simply beautiful...

FFX: Assault. Someday the dream must end. Swing de Chocobo.

FFX-2: Zanarkand ruins, and 1000 words.

FF7- Aeriths Theme/Flowers Blooming in a Church. FF7 Opening.

1). First one would have to be Theme of Sephiroth.
2). The second would have to be the beautiful Sudeki da Ne - Rikki

I don't have much experience with FF, at least not the newest ones.

My favorite song of the series as I know it, though, and if it counts as a song, is the final battle theme of FFIV.

theres also a song from FF8 that I dont know the name of (forget) but its in the commencent room,I think it was called, where theres a bunch of save points. just before you fight the sorceress who battles you through many of the games areas melting from the time compression.

One winged angel - Worthy of being an all time classic. I'm really into rock music so the advent children version of one winged angel is better than the origional in my oppinion so the advent children version is first in my list while the other one is a close second.

Electric de Chocobo - I don't know why but the chocobo music always makes me feel happy no matter what mood i'm in (not to mention the part in the middle where it sounds like something the beach boys wouldn't hesitate to play)

J-E-N-O-V-A - I love the J-E-N-O-V-A advent children theme because as i said before i love rock music and the memories of beating it with only Tifa's limit break when there was only her left, no healing spells/items, 36 HP. and enough MP for only 1 Elemental magic attack (fire ice lightning etc) Just made hearing it on AC all the more wonderful

I like the engllish version to the kingdom hearts 2 theme just because it's like something you'd hear from a japanease anime but it's in english (the english version actually sounds beter than the japanese in my oppinion)

It's unfortunate many won't understand this one because it is from the MMORPG and won't play it for that fact. The Theme for this game is by far, in my opinion, one of Mr. Uematsu's best. I remember popping the game in my PC and watching this video.. several times in fact. So, I present to you 2 links. The first of which is the opening scene from FFXI. The second, the concert that Mr. Uematsu put on earlier this year called Voices. The 2nd includes "Distant Worlds" which is an ongoing theme in the Chains of Promathia story. You only get parts of it at a time, because if all the Ode's are sang together, it's supposed to bring the Apocolypse. For those of you who haven't heard the song, enjoy!

Clash on the Big Bridge (Gilgamesh Battle Theme) from FFV (FFXII did a cover on it too, but I like the original)

Personally, I hated olmost everything about FFX-2. But that didn't stop me from playing it for enjoyment. I followed the story line, I got involved. Needless to say, "1000 Words" actually brought a tear to my eyes. No games have ever done that.

There are my four better songs of each FF because I cannot choose only one, i like all:

Too many people have already said this but Aeris' Theme still makes me choke up. One Winged Angel is a great one too. The Chocobo Theme will never die.

I can't decide, I like both "one-winged-angel" and "those who fight". I reckon the "one-winged-angel" from the movie advent children is a bit better, I like how it incorporates so many styles of music into one song, layer upon layer. It is so complicated.

The ones that stick out in my memory are "Don't Be Affraid (Orchestrated Version)" from FFVIII and "Suteki Da Ne (Isn't It Wonderful)" from FFX. Of course, there are so many good songs from the Final Fantasy series it's hard to choose favorites.

Seeing as I've only played one FF game, to zanarkand and calm land theme from FF X.

The only one I'll probably never forget is the overworld theme from FF VI. Was was the name of that...oh yeah, "Terra" IIRC. That was such a simple, but good song. "One Winged Angel" is up there too though.

Probably that very annoying song from the much hated (by me anyways) piece of crap FF9 game (well all FF is crap, but #9 holds a special place in hell).... I can't remember what it was called but it pops in my head from time to time and I want to rip it out so badly... I think it was the main theme or something, cause it played all in the fields and just basically everywhere and you can't escape it. Once you accidentally forget to mute the TV volume and hear the cursed tune, it sticks in your head forever.... -_-

That one ALWAYS gets stuck in my head. Not that that's a bad thing. J-E-N-O-V-A is easily my favourite FF song.

Maybe I'm odd, but I loved the credit music from Advent Children. Calling, I think it was in English. Coupled with totally sweet Cloud/American countryside motorcycling... yeah, it was great.

"To Zanarkand" from FFX. It was the first FF song I had ever heard (I was young, and didn't know much about Final Fantasy >_>), and it was beautiful.

"Wandering Flame" -- FFX towards the end-ish of the game.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "Awakening" from Final Fantasy VI. It was the first FF game I played, and one of the first RPG's. I had never had music touch me so much before that, but the first time I heard it in the beginning of FF6, I was just like, holy crap this is amazing. It's still one of my favorite FF songs to this day. :)

Opera theme in FFVI one of the best in the entire series, well and the kefka theme, Shadow, Cyan...

Mmm... favorite FF song I would quickly say: 1st FFVI - Aria de mezzo caraterre. It has words, always touchy and very well made (Unles you screw up selecting the right line) :D

Aerith's Theme, hands down. I've heard so many different versions of this song, and each one just makes me love it even more.

After that would be, To Zanarkand, Cloud Smiles, FFX Ending theme, Crisis Core theme (Piano version), Tidus' Theme, et cetera, but these would be the main ones =).

I'll give you my top five. Final Fantasy has such great soundtracks, it's hard to pick only five.

3. Edward's Theme (IV) (Final Fantasy IV's 'spoony bard's' theme song)

"The Price of Freedom" - FFVII Crisis Core.

I would have to say "Hurry" from Final Fantasy 7..such a memorable song haha. I don't know why, just brings back memories.

Ending Movie of FFXII influenced me a lot.

It'd probably be "One-Winged Angel" from FFVII. That was the first time I'd heard a choral final battle song, and it has quite a memorable melody. :)

Blue Fields - Final Fantasy VIII

My favourites would have to be:

FFVII: Aeris' Theme and One Winged Angel are both powerful and emotional songs that greatly influenced me.

FVIII: Eyes on Me was a great romantic piece along with Laguna's Theme which I enjoyed greatly in the excitement and intensity.

FFIX: You're Not Alone and Loss of Me were great pieces which fitted the situations perfectly while Melodies of Life was a excellent emotional and romantic tune that is still stuck in my mind to this day. I also love the Black Mages remix of Vamo' Alla Flamenco.

FFX: To Zanarkand without a doubt, a song which made me feel upset deeply along Someday the Dream will End had the same affect on Me. Auron's Theme has to be another theme that I love because I feel it shows his determination along with a calm attitude which greatly fits the character. Another of my favourities is Otherworld, a dramatic and action exciting song for Sin's attack on Zanarkand and the battle with Braska's Final Aeon.

FFX-2: Eternity Light Waves was one of those great peaceful and upsetting pieces along with 1000 Words which I made me shed a tear for the powerful upsetting piece of music.

FFXII: For 12, I would to say Kiss Me Goodbye. I found it one of those emotional scenes that makes you feel both sorrow and smoothing.

FFCC: Thanks to listening to the Soundtrack. :) I have grown fond of Why by Ayaka, it is a greatly emotional piece of music that greatly shows the great sadness and sorrow over Zack's Death. Another theme I have to love the Price of Freedom, it made me feel relaxed and calm about myself in a happy way. Another I adore is Truth Behind the Project, it is one of the very classic action packed pieces of music that has gotten me hooked in the excitement.
