Who has seen the trailer?
How quality does it look, if it looks like that in the real time, I'm gonna go crazy.
It has better graphics than the FMV's on FF

I have a feeling the actual game won`t look anything like the trailer. And if the game itself is half decent at least they made a step up from the original.

As a matter of fact I dont own KillZone 1, and am thinking of getting it for christmas, just cuse I have seen the trailer for 2.
I heard that no. 1 is really bad, is it as bad as everyone says?

Well, i found the controls too choppy but maybe that could be chalked down to the PS2s analog controls. But the thing that really annoyed me was the complete lack of AI. Unlike games such as Half Life 2 and Halo, the enimies in Killzone are on a single track. As in, they always do the same thing. I`ll give you an example...

I remember i was running towards a bunker once and these three enimies jumped out, made a neat little formation and took me out pretty quickly. But when i restarted that area those enimes did the exact same thing again, and again etc...

Although, if i were you i`d read some reviews, maybe try and demo or two.

Thanks for the tip.
Yer get that sort of things with poor War games like Medal of Honour: Rising Sun. Bluddy Hell that was a shitty game

The Killzone PS3 trailer was undoubtedly pre-rendered.

Still, I think that it was prerendered on PS3 hardware. The unrealism comes, unfortunately, from the gameplay - it was too well scripted, and camera movement was too precise.

Sony has recently aquired Guerilla Games, the developer of Killzone - I'm guessing they're hoping to use their significant resources to turn Guerilla into a Bungie-killer, and Killzone into a Halo killer. Personally, i hope they can pull it off.

The Game was quite easy and you could stay in one place for ages and being surrounded by enemy's because they would never see you..... The AI is pretty weak :( But it's enjoyable specially the battlefield modes where you can train a bit

Well with the ground breaking technology they used with the PS2 to make Killzone one, I wouldnt be surprised if those were the actual graphics on the PS3 to be honest.

Kojima said that the graphics for the MG4 demo was real time(it was mentioned by some reviewers who actually saw him pausing the game and moving around the environments just to prove it was real-time). The graphics for Killzone 2 isn't that far behind. Could have been actual real-time graphics for all we know. I believe the PS3 can definitely achieve it.

Not all of it was real time in MGS4. How about the time when Snake took out that nobody soldier, that certainly wasnt real time, and from that part it wernt real time.

Alpott
12-13-2005, 10:27 AM
How can you say the soldier part wasn't real time and the rest of it was? It's exactly the same.

Rude666
12-13-2005, 10:33 AM
The bit right at the start was, but after the soldier gets taken out by Snake, that definetly aint real time

Raidenex

You're talking shit, man =/

The reporters who witnessed Kojima playing around with the MGS4 tech demo saw him demonstrate the section when he was talking to Otacon on the Metal Gear Mark II.

You know, I don't know why everyone thinks that it's that surprising the next generation will look that good. If you actually stop and consider the power of the PS3 for a moment, it makes sense that games look like that.

Also, remember: Kojima never, ever uses FMV for cut-scenes. He always uses the in-game engine. Consider what he squeezed out of the PS2 for MGS3, and MGS4 isn't unbelievable at all.

MGS3 wasnt all that incredible, it was only slightly better than MGS2

The final battle in the flower field has the most amazing particle effects i've seen in this generation of consoles. The rain in Metal Gear Solid 2 was ahead of its time as well.

MGS2 is still one of the best looking PS2 games out there, and MGS3 looks even better. It just goes to show that PS2 games can look really pretty if enough development time is put into them.

Do NOT get the first Killzone Rude. The thing is horribly rendered and yes the controls suck. On one level I was to climb up a latter to get a sniper rifle because we were being held down by suppression fire. I went to go up the ladder and for 2 days I failed in the attempt. I was pressing the right button, but as Dirge said sometimes PS2 controls kinda lag if the games developers don't completely finish their games. I returned my copy and I don't ever plan on buying the game again.

Yer but dont I need to play it and complete it?
Otherwise it would be pretty stupid to buy the game that I havent even played the prequel to, and KillZone 2 looks quality, and I cant let it pass by me.

Its just like playing X-2 without playing X

Killzone, from what I heard, had an okay Single Player... but the multiplayer sucks extreme balls. Of course, when it comes to most FPSes, the only thing I'm concerned about is the multiplayer. If the game doesn't go up to par of Half-Life 2, I'm skipping the single player.
