At the end of FFX, after Sin was defeated, didn't all of the fayth disappear? Following on from that, didn't Tidus disappear because the fayth wished to cease dreaming? Can someone clarify if the fayth did infact disappear?

And another thought; if the fayth spent a thousand years trying to stop dreaming of Zanarkand, why would they revive the dream of Tidus after just two years?

If anyone can sort those questions out, I think I'll be a bit more comfortable with the ending of FFX-2. Right now it just seems to be painting a pretty picture over the grim face of FFX.

From my understanding of the end of X, the fayth were all sent to the farplane after the defeat of sin.

And another thought; if the fayth spent a thousand years trying to stop dreaming of Zanarkand, why would they revive the dream of Tidus after just two years?
Again, from my understanding of the story in X, the dream zanarkand could only exist with both the fayth on gagazet and Yu Yevon summoning it. When they created tidus, they werent dreaming anymore, and this is where i get stuck, especially since i havent seen the perfect end yet which i believe explains a bit of this. Until i actually get round to getting this ending, i take the opinion that Tidus is now something akin to an unsent, or a fiend. A collection of the pireflies that created his dream in the first place that has been rebuilt to produce a living person, but this is probably wrong...

hope this helped

This is something that I saw come up at another forum too. I agree with Aurons Ghost --- the Fayth were sent to the Farplane.

Then, Shuyin's consciousness starting wondering throughout Spira, including the Farplane Abyss. I believe it came into contact with the Fayth, twisting them and making them into the dark aeons. Yuna and Co. defeating the Dark Aeons at which point the little boy "Fayth" appeared and said that they weren't strong enough to stop him --- they became no better than fiends.[

If you get the Good Ending, the little boy Fayth shows up and thanks Yuna. He wants to thank her for everything she's done. But he and the Fayth in general want to do more. That's why they brought back Tidus after just two years. It was their gift to Yuna, for all she's done.

"I can't promise anything, but we'll do what we can."

Perfect Ending Spoilers

If you get the Perfect Ending, Tidus says that he has a theory. He says that he thinks that the fayth gathered up his thoughts to bring him back. Or maybe, he's still a dream.

So no, no pretty picture, I think. It all flows together, although it is a bit complicated.

I know that this wont contribute much that been written.

The normal ending was quite pathetic and hilarious imo, i mean Brother screams like a damn maniac when Yuna screamed on the roof at the airship ''higher'' it quite sickens me and frightens me.

I was actually satisfied with the good ending but the perfect ending ain't worth getting tbh.

So no, no pretty picture, I think. It all flows together, although it is a bit complicated. Something to look forward to then...

That part of the Normal Ending wasn't all that great, but I did like the three leaders speech.

I got the impression that her green eye quit being green in the end, i don't know if it was on the airship or on the docks. The two of 'em did get all kenshin on the beach though, which I thought was cool in a 'not at all a ripoff' sort of way. "Welcome home." "I'm home".

If only the second play-through offered a tidus commentary...

Yuna's eyes were always one green and one blue. That is because she is half Al Bhed.

The perfect ending was a complete dissappointment. Not even a FMV.

I will try to answer the original question. There was a war which Zanarkand lost drastically because Bevelle used the Vegnagun (forbidden machina) Yu Yevon, who is the god, saw that this was so unfair that he wanted to pay back the rest of Spira. So he cast a curse....the perfect way to get revenge on Spira. It was to make an ultimate summon (Sin) that would slowly and painfully destroy Spira. Now Yu Yevon needed help to accomplish so: 2 sets of Zanarkandian people. 1st group: a bunch of about 30 survivors from the war that would offer themselves to help recreate a dream Zanarkand situated on top of Mt. Gagazet. Here, Zanarkand lives again, and no one would know about it's existance, and neither Sin would know about it since after the Calm Land and beyond, there are endless plains, no people, so Sin would never attack there! Zanarkand was too wonderful to be destroyed...so it is now preserved in a form of dream thanks to the people who sacrificed themselves to build this world. The second bunch of people consisted of the fayth...special people chosen to offer their souls and be Aeons... So you might ask...why did yu yevon want to help people from spira destroy Sin thx to his people which are the aeons? That's the tricky part! Yu Yevon is only helping the ppl of Spira destroy themselves! that's why he gave them summons. now, the fayth (bahamut) said that he is tired of dreaming because it's been a whole 1000 years that this cycle is going on. I think that Seymour Guado was the only person in Spira who knew about all this, and to a certain extent he was right! He wanted to become Sin, so that he would help Spira end definately, not killing it slowly, he loved his ppl and in a 'crazy' way, he wanted to free them of their suffering.

Now, Jecht, was a dream Zanarkandian person, who mistakenly, got out of the dream...its not explained clear but most probably, i m quoting tidus: he went to sea for training one day and never came back...maybe somehow, he went too far off, and he just popped out from the dream and into Mt. Gagazet. Being so tired, he rushed through the calm lands and ended half dead in Macalania, where Bevelle soldiers spotted him and arrested him. Through his journey, Jecht fell in love with Spira ppl, especially Braska, Auron and little Yuna, and he didn't want them to suffer anymore. That is how he got a brilliant idea. He had a son, in the dream zanarkand who can make all this happen! help the fayth, as well help the spira ppl to get an eternal calm.

in the ending of ffx, when yu yevon got destroyed..not only sin, hence the eternal calm, with him was gone the dream, and all the components of it, therefore Tidus was disappearing...when yuna passed inside of him while trying to hug him, you see a different angle, and a sweet whistle, and pyreflies flowing near tidus. I believe that is the fayth's last wish, and a thankyou to Tidus for freeing them. the last wish was that he will turn a proper human being now. why 2 years later? well, Yuna realised she can't really stay without him after those 2 years...

what do you think of this? feel free to criticize.
