yeh the anime sucked
hardly anything animated about it
the manga however is putting up fairly well so far.. tho its a complete different take

i cringed all the way through the movie. i was a little too delicate when i watched ichi the live action movie. i couldn't bring myself to watch the anime.

have to admit from a technical point of view the movie was ace though.

Ichi, the live action, was a great movie, but the anime was really ggod too. I like in the live action they properly mixed the story with the violence, not just gratuitis gore, and plus you feel so bad for him.

I never felt bad for Ichi. I actually was really sad when Kakihara fell to his death at the end. :(

This is movie is sick!

And funny, the violence is just so comical, Takashi Miike is my favorite director and I can't wait for Nightmare Detective which is directed by the muscle bound guy
