Okay, I know it's just a game, and maybe it's just me, but is there something a bit implausible about the length of Yuna's ponytail. I don't know how fast hair grows, but would I be wrong in thinking it takes longer than two years (the time between the start of the Eternal Calm and the start of X-2) to grow a ponytail that grows all the way down to the ground? Or maybe Spiran women just grow hair really fast? Lenne's goes all the way down her back. I've also noticed that (probably due to a game mistake), it also sometimes sticks straight through her skirt. Rikku has fairly long hair too and all of them must have really good mousse or hair-spray to maintain those hair-styles.

hmmm, never realized that untill now, and now i think about it, yeah it does seem slightly implausible.

after a quick google search came up with this site (http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip214.htm), it appears as though hair only grows (on average) about half an inch a month, so in two years thats twelve inches, and yuna is much taller than 12 inches, so yeah, either spiran women grow hair really fast, or they have months that are much longer, and therefore much longer years that allow such extravagant hair growth (estimating her hair to be about 5 foot long, 120 months, thats ten years)

or maybe they just had extensions put in when they went to the hairdessers to have all the tons of mousse applied to keep their hair rock steady while they beat up the big bad machina

Aurons Ghost --- yeah, extensions is probably the most plausible theory. I guess we'll never really know, though, eh? Just fun to talk about.

I think this is reading into too much. It`s just how the characters were designed, that`s all.

But wheres the fun in thinking that though?!?!?!?!?!

what am i gonna do now that we can chalk up EVERY implausible little detail to just s-e not obeying the laws of physics/ biology/ hairdressing etc just to make the characters look good. i mean.. i am long over the fact that the characters dont change their clothes during a game, and that the only characters im aware of EVER having a bath is tidus and yuna in X, but now that i can chalk up groups of smelly people walking around spira, gaia or what ever ff i happen to be playing to square being lazy and not designing a bath or shower for the players to use, a fresh set of clothes every other time i use an inn/tent, because i do realise its only a game and im making very little sense now as i've forgotten the point of this paragraph so i'll close with: DAMN S-E, NOT MAKING GAMES THAT USE EVEN BASIC HYGIENE!!!!!! or in the case of this thread NOT MAKING SEQUELS THAT MAKE SENSE WITH REGARDS TO HAIR!!!!!!!

I don't think it was a ponytail. It was just like Dirge said, that's how the characters were designed. Yuna's "ponytail extensions" might be just a sort of design or accesory.

It's all right, it's just a discussion. I fully realize that it could just be some sort of extensions or something. Or part of character design --- hmm --- maybe it could some sort of enhancement of the dressphere?

Hey, that could be a possibility! Maybe if she didn't have dresspheres and she's just wearing her ordinary clothes, then maybe the hair extensions will be gone.

could we consider it a spiran mullet?

Spiran mullet --- I think I like that term.

Maybe it's an Al Bhed thing...

I think it's just the way characters are design to fit in with the theme of the game. I don't think the game developers cared much about the continuity for looks for the characters as long as they look good.

It's probably just clipped on, women do things like that for the sake of style...
