I cant defeat Dark Yojimbo hes just too hard, you think uve defeated him and then he pops out of nowhere and then kills ya. My own Yojimbo doesnt use Zanmato enough so then I die, Ive defeated all of the other Dark Aeons and this is the last one, anyone got any tips as its my first post. ;-)

Yer I did its the best an easiest way to go, but with Yojimbo you have to beat him several times and my Yojimbo dont use Zanmato enough so have you got any tips to beat him the proper way

I think that pretty much covers it. Oh, and don't forget to use "Three Stars".

That proberlly wont do it lol. He's not that easy. This is wear Celestrial weapons and a lot of hard ass training comes in, and a heck of a lot of stratagy. I havent beaten him myself mainly because i dont have the time, but using Aeon overdrives will come in handy. Dont just use Zanmato.

Ive trained up enough as three of my characters have completed the grid fully (Wakka, Yuna and Auron) and all have the celestial weapons but just too damn hard with the many times you have to fight him, and what is three stars and what does it do?

…Why would ANYONE use Zanmato to kill optional bosses?! Doesn’t that eradicate the point of fighting them?

Anyway, customize armor for all of your characters with Break HP limit, Auto Haste, Auto Protect and Ribbon/Stoneproof. Make sure your characters have enough HP to survive Wakazashi, then just hammer away at him with Overdrives, or physical attacks if your luck is high enough. Bring in Anime and use Pain for a while as well. When he is about to use Zanmato, block with an Aeon.

That should see you though the worst of it.

EDIT: Three stars= 0 MP cost.

Also, you are going to have to do more than completing the sphere grid in order to beat this fucker. Breed some species creation to get all of the spheres you need to max strength, defense and agility at 255. Your HP should already be high enough after completing the sphere grid.

Species creation can be fought after you catch a certain amount of the same species of fiends.

Ow, I thought it was an item or something, but its a beast in that place where all the beasts are (bit rusty) ive beat most of them even some of the original ones but not all of them so thats probably why I didnt know, I will give it a try at all that info you gave me, cheers

Yojimbo wasn't that hard, wait till you get to Penance (that's if you get to him).

My strategy to beat Yojimbo: Make sure your defence is maxed out coz he constatly uses Wakazashi. At beggining of fight cast hastaga on all, throughout the battle make sure you always have auto-life on yourself, use aim about 3 times on him coz his evaison is good, equip stoneproof armour so you dont have to worry bout the dog. Use protect to half Yojimbos attacks. The rest is a bubble bath, if you used aim 3 times your physical attacks shuould be effective, overdrives and Anima should finish the job. ;)
btw. by saving in between the battles of Yojimbo, you can get some dark matters!

Personally, the Magus Sisters where the only ones that really stood in my way. I almost gave up at that point.

I thought they were easy. You do know that you can fight them individually right?

What's the point of that. I wanted to fight them proper. Delta Attack pissed me off coz Auto Life didn't work against it. Auto Phoenix and Wakka's attack reel saved me. Main reason why I found it hard is coz I still didn't have max stats at that point.

Huh? If i understand you correctly then; it is possible to heal yourself at the save point and if you want you can save too but when you die or reload the game you will go back to the beggining.

Just don't level up your Aeons. If they are weak when you use them, then they will be weak when you fight them. Use Three Stars (no it isn't a piece of crap. Infinite MP until you die or battle ends) and then unload with Double Cast Holy, Double Cast Ultima, Double Cast Flare, etc.

Um, since when does weak aeons=weak Dark Aeons?

I think he means when you fight your aeons at the end when you fight Yu Yevon.

each time I gave him 1 more than half of my money, and I also was using the ability where you can exchange overdrives, I passed Tidus overdrive to Yuna, and Wakka's. It was quite easy once I did it right.

it's called entrust. i have worked out a really good method for killing him. i nearly did it last night but i got careless and messed up. Get out yuna, lulu and someone with autopheonix (just in case). cast hasteaga on them all, use three stars or twin stars and then hammer him with double cast ultima. when it's nearly his go grand summon. to keep yunas overdrive filled up use entrust to give yuna somone elses overdrive and then just build it bak up(double or triple overdrive is really usefull here)

Yer that may be all gravy but I can beat him once sometimes even twice but the problem is you gotta beat him FIVE times, and by the way is that you in the picture cuse if it is you are damn spanking hot

Did the part where you pay one gil more than half of your gil and he'll Zanmato not come up, it's all about perseverance and patience my friend, took me a few goes I think.

Zanmato rocks against dark aeons and no, it is not cheating that some people would like to call it.
