I loved that game. racked up 100+ hours and then some. Excellent stuff.

My opinion varies on the game. Sometimes I think it's great, at others I think it is awful. At the minute I'm in the awful state of mind. The graphics are painfully bland and dull, the combat is poor and for all the freedom it offers, I still found it terribly boring

Better then KOTOR. Better then FF. imo.
Cant wait till number 4 comes out tho. Oblivion is gonna rock. I have been paying a lot of attention and wow... just wow, its amazing! :)

Anyways a played Morrowind to death- great game. A sad end to it tho :( It had a small crack in the disk.... about 1-2 months later.... bang. Yea it blew up in my DVD drive goddamnit. DVD drive was then screwed ofc. Had to buy a new one :( Ya thats how much i played it.
But sereous it aint funny, when them disks go bang, they are spinning so fast the odd bit flys outta the DVD drive door, lucky i wasnt in its way.

I lost three months of my life to Morrowind. So for a period of time I agreed that it was the best game ever.

Then I played it a few months ago and got bored quickly. So ja... I guess time does that to all games, sadly.

I know what you mean but i`d chalk that down to losing touch with it. You know what it`s like trying to get back into a game like that after such a long time.

yeah ive been playing it for six months and enjoy it very much, but it pisses me off that i made a new file after i beat one, got it to level 48 and realized i lost a important quest item i thought i put in my hlaalu stronghold

Also worth noting, i see the mods for Morrowind have been growing in their thousands. I think it has a pretty stable mod community which really does make the game last even longer.

I agree the graphics are kinda dull. All you get when hitting someone with something sharp is a speck of blood. :-( The battle system also kinda bites. The leveling up wasn't bad, though. Just set the options button to "best attack" and your computer will do the "best attack" that your holding weapon will do.
I got to the Camp that Caius sent me to, and did the quest to get the bow, and that was as far as I had gotten. I even traveled up the Red Mountain and looked around. Found a monster that killed me, and didn't bother to return.

Anyway, Morrowind is only beaten by FF VII, nothing else comes close and even then VII wins cos if has a kind of legacy behind it. Morrowind is huge, the fact that you can do literally anything you want, be anyone you want was, for me a first in gaming.

i also hate that you have to be careful who you kill since they might be important later. i like killing someone for fun w/o it screwin with the story.
It's good but final fantasy VII is better mostly because of the story.
good graphics are useless without a even better story.

Anyway as for Morrowind, chocorider, what do you mean no story, it's got an excellent story, the reincarnation of the Nerevarine, the approaching doom and destruction from the blight, add to that what tribunal offered which was Gods playing you for a puppet only for you to strike them down and you have a damn good game.

This has got to be the greatest game ever!!!! I only started playing it recently (2 weeks ago- reason why I havn't been on the shrine much latley). There's soooooo much to do, it's supposed to be a 400-600+ hour game...pure insanity...

I'm saying it's ok to revive a thread that it an interesting topic that hasn't gone out of date. For example when the movie quotes thread was resurrected. Great thread that never gets old.

For this thread Oblivion is out now. Surely we should be discussing that rather than the quite dusty now Morrowind. I only restarted it for nostalgia purposes.

ok... point taken, but from what I hear Oblivion isn't nearly as good as morrowind... better graphics+ more enemies+ more weapons= more memory=> less gameplay... but I heared all around it's a pretty good game.

i'll let it die now... pheonix downs only recover a small amount of HP anyway...

I haven't actually played Oblivion yet. I bought the game and it won't even attempt to run it on my PC :(. So I am saving up for a Xbox 360/ New processer. Whichever runs the best deal.

I love this game, only reason I don't play it anymore is 'cause I can't find the journal entries I need (got so many of them, just cant find the important ones).
Does anyone know how to use the construction set? Only thing I was Able to make is a new race and class, and even then my character was only a head. Help would be appreciated.

No I hate it you have no idea what your doing or where your going in that game Elder Scrolls 4 is much better with the autowalk system and it tells you where you have to go for the quests
