I've got that file too, Chewey - it's not the one from the movie.

I suggest ordering the importing the OST - it's likely to have the song you're after on it. Without that whole language-barrier problem.

I have yet to hear the entire soundtrack but i thought the reworking of OWA in the tralier was nice.

The soundtrack is awesome, even if it's not entirely original. The battle music when Tifa is fighting in the church is from the Piano Collection, and the J-E-N-O-V-A theme when Cloud is fighting Kadaj is the Black Mages' version.

All awesome.

Surprisingly, Uematsu didn't have such a big role in this. I thought "Fighting" from the Piano Collections was used very awkwardly in the movie, the Hamaguchi arranged it rather well, yet, entirely predictable. The music direction for that scene wasn't up to scratch. I was quite surprised to see Fukui as a conductor for the Choral piece at the beginning and the end called "The Promised Land." You have to realize that the OST really isn't that powerful for an action movie the size of AC. Not even the Black Mages or Kawamori could save it from mediocrity

For anyone wanting to check out the soundtrack, #gamemp3s released it early this morning. Here is the torrent link for anyone that is interested: http://www.skylagoon.com/gamemp3s/torrents/9-28-05.torrent

I think the soundtrack is simply amazing, from top to bottom. My only disappointments are that they just re-used some of the piano tracks from the Piano Collections album, but I can live with that. "Beyond The Wasteland", "Divinity I", "Divinity II", "Those Who Fight Further (FFVII AC Version)", and "Advent: One-Winged Angel" are among my favorites. For anyone who hasn't checked it out yet, please do yourself a favorite and grab it.

Yeah, but that rip is just 192, the one I posted is in high quality VBR. Plus, torrents aren't difficult to use at all. But yeah, nice that you have the alternative there for those that want it. :)

the number of people that can tell the difference between a properly encoded 192kbps LAME rip and a LAME alt preset standard/extreme are very, very low. and that's under optimal conditions with the right equipment (which most people don't have).

it's largely a matter of preference. I can tell the difference in my grado headphones (between alt preset extreme and 192 constant lame). alt preset standard (which is what most VBR rips are) is much closer to 192 constant than most people seem to think.

it really boils down to personal preference, how sensitive your particular ears are, and how nice your equipment is. but I just get flame-happy when someone dares to try to say/imply that 192kbps lame isn't a high quality encode ^^

I know some people do prefer vbr though, and appreciate you posting the link for them !

Surprisingly, Uematsu didn't have such a big role in this.

Perhaps that's why I (and so many others) like it. If TBM and TBM2 are any indication, Uematsu went senile a few years back and the last thing he was thinking about was electric guitars.

</annoyed>

I miss Mitsuda, and while Kumi Tanioka is shaping up nicely (her stuff from FF11 is great), there's just a big void there. Anyone know if he's done anything since An Cinnunt?

I love the OSC for AC. But then again, I prefur the fact that they reused and remade some of the old themes. Makes it fit so well.

But for the page, does anyone know which track goes with which part of the movie. I can tell a few, but not a whole lot.

Could you explain this? If he did not, who composed the OST? I am quite confused, i thought he did it, like the whole OST. I loved the OST but the guitars did get a bit tedious after awhile. OWA was amazing, Uematsu did do this arrangement yeh?
Could you please tell me who composed/arranged what on the album.
Thanks

so the AC version of OWA has new lyrics? i thought that it was just diferent cause it was in japanese, and that they would put in the lyrics that we're used to in the american version. hmmm....well, guess i was wrong. it was a good version, although i much prefer the KH version. (i don't like the new lyrcs. they should have left it how it was)

Perhaps that's why I (and so many others) like it.

I disagree. I think people like it BECAUSE Uematsu's name was in the credits. Besides, many fans don't even know about the arrangers.

In my opinion, Tanioka needs to learn how to emphasize feeling. She rarely shows any in her work.

Umm, he's done A LOT of stuff since an cinnunt.

Fallout 1&2 (in my opinion the greatest games ever)

Deus Ex (Beats the crap out of half-life and should have sold better than it did)

Baldurs Gate 2 (I'm ashamed to say i haven't played the first game)

Septerra Core (Not super great, but the plot and the environs are really good)

And tied for best FF game is FFVIII and FFX mostly because i really liked the character development systems.

another easy way to get one winged angel is to just download limewire and download it off there. also, did anyone notice that "still more fighting" (ff7 boss music) wasn't in there? i think it should have been in the fight with bahamut at least. or the fight in the forgotten city. If thats the music thats in the fight with reno, rude, loz, and yazoo, then it doesnt sound anything like it.

04-21-2007, 06:19 PM
Well, one winged angel is a good song... the orchestrated version of it... hmmm ... I think I need some time to find it. It's probably under the FF collection albums 'Final Fantasy 20020220' problem is that there will be claps and few voices because it's recorded directly from the concert at the Tokyo Convention Centre on 2002

SONIC_BOI
04-21-2007, 10:44 PM

04-23-2007, 02:18 AM
Hmmm... that's the trick part... unless there's another downloaded site like Blue Laguna because I have the CD for Final Fantasy 20020220. There's a catch actually... if you hear the original version, you'll hear the song like the SNES game songs and the AC version that you knew of. Final Fantasy 20020220 is the only album that has the orcestrated version because it's directly live from the concert itself. I'm not sure if they might have the song for that but I'll try.

Here's the link for now: http://www.anime-eden.com/page/anime/albums.html

PS: Needed registration but I believe that you'll find it there... the best thing is that you should buy the CD because some CDs have their special stuff in it for the fans.

i've been looking through these links and site, but i still haven't found the version of this song that has the singing in it, if anyone has that song, please send it to me

Katsuomori
06-07-2007, 02:39 PM
This is what I've found out. The only singing version of this song is the Advent Children version and the orchecstra version which only can be found under Final Fantasy 20020220. The others like FF7: Reunion and FF7 soundtrack itself have only the MIDI version of it.

Why? It's because that they decided to have the singing version of it when they played the song during the Final Fantasy tours (Hawaii, Disneyland and the lastest was the Tokyo Philiharmonic Orchestra and the other Game Conventions) and this song was originally don't have the choirs or singing effects if that's what you call it. That singing version of it was brought forth to the FF7: AC just that since Nobuo had his team of Black Mages at that time, they did a little touch (well big) on it.

So the only instrumental and with singing on it was recorded only in the album Final Fantasy 20020220. Sorry I don't make the decision... asks Nobuo... he's the one who makes the decision of this song and how it was played during the limited area tours. You can check the wikipedia for more detailed info about this song. Hope that explains. ^^
