Ah wikipedia, is there anything they don't know. And why does square keep releasing all the games on different consoles!? It would be better if they just stuck with the PS2.

releasing them on different consoles keeps the entire fanbase happy. plus, it's most likely intended to be a handheld-type game so putting it on the ps2 would be overkill.

anyways, i get that cloud and sephiroth hate each other, why does square feel that this is the only story worth telling from different perspectives? each final fantasy outdoes the last in terms of sales, i dont get why theyve just stuck to this one and X (which imo had the worst cast of characters). a new 4 or 6, with good graphics would have so much character content and a better story to keep expanding, i think.

FF VII was a really good FF as video games go, but Sil'Fur has a point, it gets to much love. I'd like to see some other FF games get sequels and movies, like FF VIII. However I am really crossing my fingers for a FF VII remake of the actual game. When I look at cloud's block hands I shudder >< It would be a dream come true if SE remade it with enhanced graphics and mabye some new extra features. It may happen too, SE remade FF I & II and now IV, so it's entirely posible they will make a foray into their earlier 3D games and remake them.

Re-making or re-doing any more FF games would totally upset me.
I mean I love taking out that old SNES and blowing the dust off my Final Fantasy.

I honestly think it would be a shame to give FF any more movies, horrible spin-off games, etc.

Yes, I have, and honestly I don't see anything wrong with FF III remake. It looks very good so far and since the states never even got FF III I'm happy to see it's finally coming over here, and in 3D too.

FF7 is a cash cow. That's why it gets so much attention. Japanese love 7, Americans love 7, Europeans love 7... everyone loves 7. Hop on fanfiction.net and see all the FFff (Final Fantasy fan fiction). 90% of it is FF7ff.

People think Cloud and Sephiroth are "das uber kool mein" and consume FF7 like it was candy... oh, wait.

While we loved for nothing more than to delve into this game immediatly, Square is yet to set a release date.

In response to those of you who think they should remake 6 as opposed to 7, imo you are nuts, ff7's story line is fantastic, and leaves you dying to know more. IMO the only ff that ever comes close is ff8.
