I think its some destructive beer.

Im not sure what exactly it is, but when you use his overdrive banishing blade, he drinks it and spits it on his sword and makes black energy shoot out of it. So its probably some magical elixir.

Chances are that it's Sake (or Rice Wine). Usually Ronins would carry this around to purify their Sword or just to drink it.

I have no idea but it's most likely sake. I never heard of it before. I think it is that because Auron has than fancy stance or somethign that is related to a ninja or somethign else in Japan, so this might be related also. I wonder if it's explosive too in order to cause the Tornado explosive.

Hey it could be gasoline to cause the explosive!!! But why would he drink it...? Maybe he forgot somehow and drank it and relizes that it tastes bad and spits it out...

It's obviously kerosene! I mean how else could he do all that fire and such?

i thought jecht was the alcoholic? but auron, being jecht's companion, probably would have knocked back a few with him. remember that he was killed by yunalesca when he went back for revenge, so probably he had the jug on him when he died and couldn't remove it once he was dead.

For those who don't know Sake (pronounced "Sock-ey") is a japanese rice wine made with an alcoholic content so high it's similar to whiskey.

Auron's jug, I'm sure of, is a jug od 'sage'. Sage is a japanese drink that Ronins (Samuri's without masters) carry with them as a tradition. Ronin's also carry one arm in a sling as tradition.

So I'm absolutely sure it is a bottle of Sage.

By the way, did y'all notice that this Final Fantasy has more of a Japanese themed stuff? Like the hairstyles are like a Japanese teen hair style, Yojimbo, Yuna's clothes as a sexy style of kimono, etc...

Anyhow... back to the original q... it's booze. All the more reason to love Auron, he rocks

Nope, that was Jecht. In fact, in one of Jecht's sphere's Auron seems disgusted with Jecht's alcoholism. He says something along the lines of "Braska, you want to make that drunk your gaurdian?"

I thought FFVII was probably the most "Japanese" of all of them. But I think in FFX they changed fewer things from the Japanese to the the American version. (I read somewhere that Auron was the animators' favorite character because his collar usually hides his mouth, so they didn't have to redo his lips to make them line up with the English lines like they did with all the other characters.)

Okay... let me explain this...

First off, Auron is modeled after a Ronin, a Masterless Samurai. Usually a Ronin would carry a Jug full of Sake, using it for two things.

1. Just plain out drinking.
2. Purify his sword.

This is true fact as various sources, games, movies, and so on does show this in one way or another when Ronins are around.

Now, it might not be Sake since it is an FF type world... but chances are that it is Sake since spraying Whiskey on it would be dishonerable... the Sword would be unpure.

The point here... who cares? =P

I do believe it is a japaneese drink called Saki...kinda makes since huh? :eye:
