I'm am on chapter 5 in the Temple and dungeon crawling for about 4 days about 2 hours a day just going deeper and deeper taking forever because of the random battles every other step. I'm a level 60 and haveing a hard time beating the Conq. After reading other post, and trying, I'm thinking it's not worth going any farther.
I was wondering just how far do you have to go to get the level completed? What happens and is it worth it?

100 floors, in level 60 you'll get your ass kicked, use the cat nip in a gunner...

You know, you can't stop the random battles from occurring, but you can escape from them if you must.

It is worth getting right to the bottom should you be able to do so.

Do if not for fun. Then do it for the percentage. and cause taht in the next game you will have to start all over from lvl 0

If this is the Bevelle Temple, does anyone know how to beat the big tornberry? He kills my party with one stab each! And they're all on level 80!

Your only hope of beating the MEGA tonberry is either really fast Gunner / Cat Nip, Lady Luck 777 (again, really fast) or strong Mascots.

But, really, the best thing you should do is just avoid the MEGA tonberry --- they can all be avoided if you know how. If you're not sure, ask and I'll provide the instructions.

I can avoid it by going back to the save sphere after every cloister I get through.

Thanks for the tips. =)

No, that's the hard way of doing it, but if you know the right tricks, you can actually avoid the battles without doing that.

Really? Could you tell me how please?

Okay, tell you what, rather than me trying to explain it, just visit the GameFAQs Final Fantasy X-2 section:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/562386.html

From there, click on the document that's titled Via Infinito FAQ. Wait for that to load up and then use your browser's find function and put in the following shortcut code: MTES

You'll automatically be taken to detailed information on how to navigate each of the six different types of MEGA tonberry cloisters without having to fight any. Print it out if you need to. If there's anything you're still not clear on about it after reading that, let me know specifically which ones and I'll try to explain it better.

You mean, you can't equip the Charming Ring that disables random encounters? =-O

That bangle works for me down there. But if you can see the enemy before you fight it doesn't.

That works for you? In my experience, Charm Bangle did not stop random encounters while in the Via Infinito. What version of the game are you playing?
