Does anybody know where the enemies that give you the best EXP and AP in the game are? I wanna jack my guys up to good lvls, and get all my Materia's mastered.

And as a follow up question... Can you get back into The Gold Saucer Prison, the one where you got blamed for what Dyne did and you had to win the Chocobo race to get out of it?

Magic pots in the north crater.At the fork go left then down.You have to give them an elixer before you can hurt them but you can steal them from tonberries and wierd donkey things(you encounter them with a wierd dancing thing)

ya i love this game so much its my first time actually playing through the whole thing, all the other times my brother always does most of it and i only got to see parts, the whole thing with Cloud is so complicated. You know where the best EXP/AP is on the world map? probably by the North Crater eh?

best map Ap location is near Mideel, against headhunters i believe, at least thats where I did it, Also you should use triple or double Ap weapons if your strong enough.

ya i totally forgot that the characters best weapons have no AP growth and i was like why am i not lvling my materia, and then it hit me.... Cloud is a champ with the Ultimate Weapon though he just tears shit up.

The headhunters is the best way to go by far, theres 3 possibilties with fighting them

1. fighting 3 head on gives you 240 ap
2. fighting 4 head on gives you 320 ap
3. fightnig 4 Pre-emptive gives you 320 ap

then in the area you get the damn "sleep scale" bugs that only give you 220, you always fight 3.

The exp i dont know by heart, but 2400 came up alot, the problem with the wrecked ship, is you fight all sorts of enemys for as little as 140 ap(i think) and once in awhile youll get 350 or so. If you want to go down to the boat enter the room to the Left (look from our point of view) of the save point, its the small room that has a door at the top. In that room i had the best outcome. Stay in the room for the best results, But the bigger ap/exp gains were far apart. Trust me, stick with the headhunters!

the Gelnika, ya i was down there just now you get some good shit, that one thing always confuses Cid and ive got the 2x-Cut on him so he always messes Barret up, and Cloud has to do all the work, not that its hard for him cause hes such a champ.

If you travel around in the submarine near the gold saucer you will come across a sunken Shinra plane. This has some decent enemies in but some are just pants. I think it is called the Gelinka plane.

early in the game the alarms near Junon underwater reactor are pretty goo0d for Ap and exp

both of those are too random, I like the reliability of the Headhunters.

Headhunters are ok, but Magic Pots are the best (after u give em an elixer)...especially cuz u can do that W-Item trick (item multiplication: in other words infinite elixers and other items).

And by the way that plane is good for character stats development... just Morph those enemies to get Sources (Power, Magic, Speed, Luck etc).

Yes, go to the part of the island of Mideel that you can land on (with the Tiny Bronco) and walk around, you should engage in a battle with monsters that look like Sand Crabs, they have around 2000 HP. If there are four, you should get around 3000 EXP (from what I remember at least) and around 120 AP. Also, the battles inside the room in Mt.Nibel that the Materia Keeping is/was in give off around 1500 EXP for four enemies. The Dragons there give off a reasonable ammount of AP

if your refering to headhunters 4 of them give you 320ap per battle, so with the Triple Growth Weapons its like 960ap a battle, not bad at all.

I haven't played in a few months so, couldn't remember the EXCACT number, so it's like 120 from EACH one.

Thats what i did, Sid has a weapon and so does Cloud that gives you 3X times groth, I failed to get clouds so with sid's there 2 slots. I put Knights of the Round and Quadra magic, built those levels up, Knights is going to take longer to master, in the time it took to master Knights (i think) i mastered Quadra magic twice and 2x cut once. IMO, master 2x cut 6 times and equip it on everyone. Thats 4000 damage giving per team member. Thats about 12,000 Per turn which is about 1000 less than Knights. And the fight goes by a hellof alot quicker than casting Knights.

Barret's drill Arm has double growth so i was using that one too.

i think the little red balls at the place were the magic pots are better ( 2400Ap) and when you do it use clouds Apocolyps wepon and cids simatar ( both grow triple )
i grew knoght of the round full in less than 1hr & 30min.

ive never found that sword in there EVER! and ive played through the games about 6 times...

but the northern crater obviously has the strongest monster since thats where the last bosses are.

Movers and magic pots are awesome, i think movers dont give exp but you get a sickening amount of ap and gil.

No its the other way around, you can't go to it untill he comes and crashes and makes the crater by it so you can walk up the crater to get to the forest.

Your right, ive been thinking about that for the last day now.....Tonight my goal is to get that damn sword...I think thats the only sword of clouds i havnt seen. I got the stupid bat w/a nail in it.

yeah the sword you get in that forest owns you also get slash all which is another very usefull materia

Ya, Plane, crater, it all depends on the training style of the player. If you wanna train w/out going back, crater,s the way to go, but some people like to waste vast amounts of gil before the Ultimate Dungeon. BTW, why do you get gil from later enemies? It's not like you can spend it, right?

I never realized how many people on FFS have no sigs/ava. O.O

does anybody else think it wierd that you get exp from the last jenova fight? the one right before sephiroth? You have already gone past 'the point of no return' before fighting jenova.
Maybe it's to give you a better chance at beating the other bosses, sometimes when i beat the game on a lower level i got about 3 level ups in one go on that fight.

for ap it is those meatball looking things. and for exp it is the magic pots but magic pots also give you some nice ap points.

Definately the area with the magic pots! They give you 2000AP each and you usualy fight two of them! With a triple growth weapon that is 6000AP. Around certain areas they are very common too.
Also in that are you can fight 3 rovers. That will get you 2400AP and they can be morphed into peace rings (iirc)!

Also when fighting in those areas you can come across the master Tonberry's and morphing one of these will yield a ribbon. :)

Also fighting there will get you more Exp than in the Mideel area!

EDIT: The sunken Gelnika is crap, but has a lot of great items! Also the 'Unknown' creatures can be morphed into 'sources' - ie guard, power and magic. The Sepent can be morphed into a mind source.

Because, of course, you NEED to have 5 copies of KOTR, especially if you already have 3 copies of the Master Summon Materia.

He's right, though. If you have W-Item equipped, you can duplicate your elixirs. Just use one elixir with it and select the character, then start to use the second, but cancel once you get to the character selection. You will have another elixir. So, from this point, just keep hitting cancel, ok, cancel, ok, cancel, ok over and over again until you have 99. Then magic pots are a breeze!

nooo its still there in fact wen ultima dies it makes the path to the forest so u dont need a golden chocobo

once you get to the place where the Magic Pots are can you get back outside of the crater?

I had 8 Mastered Copies of KOTR and I did'nt even know they were being mastered. I was just mastering some All for some quick cash and then hey look! KoTR mastered.
