I have a very annoying problem: I've played FFIX and FFVII, and I'm now in FFVIII. On CD 3 (when I'm supposed to search for the White SeeD Ship) when I try to capture the Tonberry King GF, but I don't have the time to finish all the 20 tonberries and the King itself, and I want to go out to save, the game freezes with the World Map music and a black screen. I can't do anything 'cause none of the buttons respond, and the CD is not spinning in my PSOne, and if I load the save point before going in, it does the same...
I've played it over to the same place, and saved it to two states, and both of them are loaded with the music and black screen.
I don't see any scratches on my CD, but I read here somewhere that the CD can be burnt from the inside (or what) after playing with it for a while, is it true? 'Cause it can be the problem than...
If anyone knows a solution, please tell me 'cause I really want to know what'll be the rest of the game...

Oh, OK... I just hope that my saves will work... But maybe it's more than just a hope, because it means that the CD got rotten by using it for hours... thny anyway.

Buy a disc cleaner.

I am in a similair situation. My disc 2 of FF7 freezes, during the FMV scene wafter you fight the robot near midgar. I hired it from the local video store and there's froze. I told them today, but theyu didn't do anything ,because i didn't
tell them when i returned it. I was playing to tell tehm, but my dad didn't tell them because "the line was too long".



So i guess we both have to purchase a FF game.

I got my FFVIII (platinium) off ebay for $45.00, if that helps you..

I borrowed my friend's and it worked!!! Guess I'll make it to CD 4 and then the problem is solved.

Oh, and Tonberry's LV Up command rules: get a T-Rexaur in the Training centre, and make sure you have a person in your team with ST-Atk J, and junction there 100 Sleeps. When u encounter one, make it fall asleep, and blind it. Make it's healt fall down to 200, and then start leveling it up. You can esasily kill it with Diabolos (9999 damage), and in the end all of your characters will get 3000-3500 Exp! If it can hit you with blind, u can always cast Life, and maybe then Quistis can use her Degenerator limit.
This way you can get easy experience :)

i know what you mean, because on ff7 my disc 2 freezes when cloud goes insane in the whirlwind maze. (damn it). Maybe you should buy a new one or you could maybe borrow one.

FF7 used to freeze for me in the city of the anchients with bugenhagen but after I left it for a while it worked again!lol. =)
