Try the forrest outside Mideel, it doesn't give great EXP but it is a good spot for levelling up your materia.

Diamond Weapon is a pushover, and yet, still one of my favorite bosses. What level is the party you're going to use and what materia do you have (levels also) and I'll tell you if you're good to go.

You have the submarine by this time yeah? Go underwater to the sunken ship...The monsters there are pretty hard, and will give your characters are good amount of EXP

nahhh u dont wanna go in the submarine. especially i ure not strong enough to beat the diamond weapon cuz the monsters r pretty damn strong down there and most have got A LOT of HP and some even have Death Magic so......I really wouldnt recommend it.....the best place id recommend would be around Mideel....stick on there till u level up enough.

The submarine not only would increase your EXP a lot, but would also help you test out strategies for harder boss fights. Such as diamond.

Id say the monsters down there are harder than Diamond cause of the death.

if you have the right materia combo's and you know how to use your party, any battle can be won. The submarine area was good i reckon... but i tend to just randomly walk around an area. I pick a start and end point, and then walk all the way there, this way i get variety and so on.

it's annoying though when i misjudge my strength and end up fighting these very weak useless monsters... and i have about 20 minutes of walking to do to get any sort of transportation, lol. So be careful where you pick to run around, make sure there is a chocobo or something waiting for you...

But as many said before, walking a lot around the Mideel area really strengthens you. Also around Bone Village (only if you find those dragon-type monsters) And any Islands away from the mainland.

Unfortunatly, FF7 is such an easy game, thats there really is no need to go over lvl 50. Unless, you want to give it a go against the weapons.

There also aren't many strong monsters and this is why I perfered FF8, because the monsters leveled up with you.

i sortta agree. i think it would have been good if there was a place in FFVII like there was in FFX... that dungeon bit, hidden on the map, forgot what it was called... you fight Ultimate Weapon or something... sheesh it's been a while. Anyway, that place had difficult monsters and heaps of EXP regardless what level i was on, i thought it was a good idea.

They need to make the monster get harder depending on your level, i mean a REAL challenge, where there is actually a chance to die, that way levelling up can be done properly, but should be kept as a reward... i found you can level up too quickly sometimes, although good at the time, i found that later in the game it could get boring since you are this death machine, and monsters like outside of Midgar still did 2 damage per hit to you. See what i mean?

To lvl up you need to fight in the nordren cave ^^

Usually by the time I get to the northern crater my characters don't need anymore leveling :-(

I just know, that if you take the left route (I believe...) The monsters are much hard than the right route in the northern crater... there you can level up a lot more.

You don't need to level very high to beat Diamond weapon. He was annoying when I fought him because I equipped Cloud with that "Reflect bracelet" thingie, so every time I had Tifa cast Cure 3 on my party I healed Diamond too.

And I remember when, back in MY day, magic pots casted cure and whatnot on my party and then killed themselves. :D

Lol, If you wanna beat Diamond just use knights of the round XD not sure if you can get it at that time though... If not, you shouldnt be able to get to the cave yet, so disregard what these people are talking about. There arent many good places to gain EXP in FFVII but.. If worse comes to worse.. you can always use the multiply cheat ;) just hook yourself up with a few elixers and get phoenix/final attack going.

just to say one more thing about the submarine lvl-up-ing....when leveling up most ppl + myself usually try to find fights where u get lotta XP or AP or whatever they need and the fights r fast and easy! for instance....near Mideel monsters r easy so it takes u about 3 mins per fight and u get lotta XP/AP/Gil but in the submarine fights r hard they take like forever (like 5-7 mins) if ure as weak as not being able to beat the Diamond Weapon and yeh u get lotta XP/AP/Gil and as smbdy said - experience in fightin bosses....but u dont wanna lvl-up fightin bosses now do ya??

He does counter yeah.Go in with only 1 character alive.ruby will put his hands in the ground to attack you from behind.Use Pheonix on the hands to revive the others(make sure its on the hands cause of the Ultima).Cast Hades on ruby which should paralyse him.Then...use KOTR and mime it.

yeh thanks. just a few more questions....how many times do i have to use KOTR to kill it? i mean how much HP does the freak have?? should i fight Ruby with only that one character or should i revive the others after Ruby sticks his claws in the ground? cuz i read somewhere that its easier that way if u connect the HpAbsorb and KOTR together on that one living character and just Mime it with that same character....oh yea! and can Mime mimic enemy's moves (magic/summon/whatever) aswell? thx in advance

He dosent have as much Hp as Emerald.About 600K id say maby more.Revive everyone with pheonix. As soon as the battle starts if you have only 1 character alive he will put his hands in the grounds straight away.Use hades like I said then W-summon KOTR(mastered if you have it) and mime with the other two.Thats 12 KOTRs!!!!Dont know about hp absorb but make sure you have Final Attack-Pheonix just incase and make sure you have 9999hp and 999mp.Hes a lot easier than Emerald. =)

Hades and KOTR makes Ruby easy but Emerald is different.Just use 12 KOTRs and a few quadra Ultimas ar Bahamut Zeros and he should be dead.If hes not then you have wasted all of your MP and final attack-pheonix wont work so your screwed.lol.Does anyone know what his Air Tam Storm does.Sometimes it does 9999 Damage to everyone but others it dosent kill the at all.does it depend on your materia of weapons or anything?
