I am in need of 21 more dark matters to break the damage limit for my last permanent member of my party, Wakka - as I cannot be arsed to play blitzball and thus get his celestial weapon (and id rather make my own). I have obtained the 99 for breeding the Ultima buster, and also know I can bribe landworms for dark matters. HOWEVER, I have NEVER EVER actually encountered any land worm creatures to bribe!! So, I was wondering if anyone knows where else to find the elusive dark matter??

Well, can't you find a landworm in the Sanubia Desert? There should be one in there, especially the part of the desert where it has harder monsters.

Yeah you can find the land worm in the Sanubia Desert. It takes 1,600,000 gil though to bribe it for 2 dark matter.

as far as I can tell, thats the only way to get it. If im wrong, someone please correct me...

Land Worms can only be fought past the point of no return, meaning there isn't much use in bribing for Dark Matters. Sand Worms can be fought in Sanubia Desert, but you can't get Dark Matters from them.

You can get them from Blitzball, or as rare drops from the arena creations. There is no quick way to get them. I would however advise getting World Champion and fully powering it up. It's much better than any customized weapon for physical damage.

Gah the dillema... Silly sidegames for ultimate weapons... or not.. That is the question I suppose!

I'm half-way of collecting 60 dark matters by fighting Chimerageist in the monster arena. He will drop a dark matter about every 6 fights. And if you finish him off with an overkill you'll get 2 dark matters every time, cutting the time you have to spend fighting him in half.

It takes about 13.000 HP to beat him, so what I do - not having obtained break damage limit yet - is hit him 9 times with Tidus and Wakka (whom do a 9999 hit) and then finishing him off with Tidus' Slice & Dice.

It usually takes just about one minute to beat him with Tidus and Wakka having SOS Haste in their armour and keeping their HP yellow.
Works like a charm for me :)

Ill just go and give him a blitz ace I reckon... that should do it..

Either that if you have already gotten enough dark matters customize a normal weapon with two available slots with Triple Overdrive and Break Damage Limit... I personally added this to a weapon with Poisontouch... now if a monster doesn't die from my skill of combining a maxed out tidus with the break damage limit combined with blitz ace gotten from triple overdrive then it's in for hell ^.^ because that poison if it takes effect will eat away what little hp it has left LOL

Break Damage Limit + Triple Overdrive + Poisontouch = Best weapon ever.........

The quickest way I found was to fight the dark aeon Yojimbo in the sunken cave. It only takes 16 99999 hits to kill him and when you kill him he almost always drops Dark Matter.

first of all i strongly recommend you to just go play some blitzball.. it's quite fun once u get used to it. trust me it'll take less time than collecting 60 dark matters.

and you need 99 dark matters for ribbon.

there is no easy way to get dark matter.
1. get 99 by breeding ultima buster but this can only be done once
2. kill arena monsters - they drop dark matter by 20% chance. if u overkill them they drop 2. just keep killing one-eye or sleep sprout, u can overkill them with one 99999 attack.
3. kill dark aeons - they almost always drop dark matter, except they can sometimes drop master sphere by 20% chance. since u can keep fighting dark yojimbo over and over, just kill him 4 times, get 8 dark matters and then reset the game. repeat procedure.

If you're collecting 99 dark matters for Ribbon, then it can be faster to collect armours by killing dark aeons. dark aeons give u armours with Break HP Limit and Ribbon on them. so u can save both wings to discovery and dark matter.
