Personally, I think That ffx has the best ending I've even seen. I surprised myself when I realised I had just let off a tear (please don't laugh of me since I'm a man) It was so sad. IT'S a big change compared to the others ffs in which it'S most of the time a (all'S well that ends well.) what do you think?

I think its a excellent game, with a very good ending! BUT should it be the best? I think not, because an ending is rated as best when the player understands and is satisfied with what happened!!!
In FFX, I loved it, but didnt understand it... and I already asked this in another thread, what does it mean that Tidus is only a dream of the Fayth? is he an aeon?

Since you're asking the ending of any game, and discuss about it, this is better fit for General FF.

what does it mean that Tidus is only a dream of the Fayth? is he an aeon?
No. He was like... created by the fayth. He was created by the fayth by dreaming. In the dream, they summon images(kind of...) of the people of Zanarkand. Including buildings of Zanarkand. Everything, including Tidus.

Also, in my opinion, FFVIII has the best ending. Because it's a happy ending. I hate sad endings.

My favorite ending was FFX because it showed us that a sad ending could work. But my second favorite is FFIX.

I don'T think It was a bad ending. It was sad but happy in the same time. You see, Tidus had to go, but yuna finally said what she felt about him. She said "I love you". And they had defeated Sin without killing the summoner. Wasn't it a happy end?

That's exactly what I thought there's exactly 20 minutes! I have all the fmvs on my computer and there's 20 minutes of that I watched the ending and I thought; Why don't you tell her you love her to instead of leaving without saying anything!! So I'm not the only one who thinks that =)

why didn't tidus say "I love you too"?

Because he was too immaterial for his lungs to exhale the air of the materal realm, and not immiateral enough to project an astral voice. He acknowledged what she said as best he could in the state he was in physically.

I liked the first FF's ending very nicely. I mean it introduced the brainfuck ending, as FF series were imfamous for. And practically none of the FF endings brought a good resolution. The Ending for FFX was really intended to be a new begining, and I think it was satisfactory because it was really the best ending you could have given to that story. And that's what it is, It's specifically THAT story. Every story has an ending that would be the best, if that ending fits the plot and the climax to said plot well, then that is a good ending. It doesn't have to resolve everything that is in that world. The world will continue to have problems. But it is meant to bring new begining into that world, if the desire ending is one of salvation rather than destruction. FFX was meant to be about a new begining rather than an ending. You weren't fighting the final battle for Spira's future, you were fighting to give Spira a chance to face the first battle for Spira's future.

The ending was meant as a new begining, what it bagan wasn't what one might've expected... I'm sure that if Yoshinori Kitase knew that FFX-2 would've turned out to be, he would've commited hari-kiri before he would have to live to see it... Just kidding, I liked FFX-2, although I thought it was a little too whimsical, and the way it flowed into its few serious parts was as smooth as a jagged piece of limestone barreling into a Honda's windshield.

I wonder if it was really worth getting...

So far as the FF series goes, VII and X had really crappy endings. VIII was okay, but i was a little disappointed. There probably wasn't enough space on the FFI cart for a "proper" ending...anyway. I'd have to say that the best ending belongs to (no surprise here) IX and VI. They actually tied up loose ends and were rather rewarding. Unlike VII and X, I was smiling when I turned my console off.

Does anybody have a video Clip of the ending? I beat the game 4 times, but my copy skips and I never get to see the dang end video.

P.s I'm to cheap to buy another copy and nobody I know of is into Final Fantasy.

I've got FF8's full ending and a clip of RedXIII running with his kids from FF7,
They actually tied up loose ends and were rather rewarding actually for people like Shadow i had to find out for myself, Gogo,Umaro,Mog,Shadow there ending were never really explained which is why originally i thought it would make for a good sequel but not that i think about it, that would never happen. So V gets my vote just to be different ;)

I agree that tens ending is certinaley the best but all the other games pre-10 were text based and had no actual spoken dialogue and this added a lot of emotion and depth in 10. As a whole 10 creates some really emotional moments, not just the end eg. Macalania Lake

Even with voice acting, FFX's ending is pwned by FF6 and FF Tactics.

Sorry.

I personally think the ending to FFVII is the best. I`m not going to get into the whole disscussion how it doesn`t show "an ending" but i love how at the end when it fades out from Meteor and shows Aerith. This, to me was much like the shot from the start seqence, giving us the impression of a new begining, or it going full circle.

Let the backlash begin.

Tactics did that whole thing less than one-third of the way through the story, iirc, Dirge.

Coming full circle or whatever.

And then there's the whole rant about how FFX was a bastardized version of Tactics. Weaker story equivalent (oppressive church, plot twist concerning the object of said church's worship, blah blah blah), less battle strategy required, and less character development.

Either show me your opinion cop badge or shut up. I agree that FFT was the best of the bunch, so he is, in fact, not the only one who understands that simple and obvious fact.

There's the matter that FFT was close to twice as long as FFX, then there's the matter that FFT was done like a Shakspearean Play in it's story development. One of the most definite bowworings from FFT in FFX was the in-battle dialogue that was only present in a few fights. If FFX were drawn out more, and there were more in-battle dialogues, then the game would have seemed less toned down. But then again, FFX was the best game FFX could have been in my opinion. In that I mean, if it went that much further in the direction that FFT went then it would have become more an influence of FFT and had less of it's own plot.

Another thing... someone at some point said that only some of the FF games had "proper" endings becase CG didn't enter the FF games until FFVII, which isn't completely true, a primitive version of CG was present in many parts of FFVI, most of which were playable. The FF games prior to CG did to have proper endings because an ending isn't defined by a CG sequence. It's defined by the literary devices that are used to create resolution to the plot.

I don't believe theres a question mark there if there was maybe i'd have reason to believe you were asking a question, anyway @ cyancyde sadlyi never finished the game with shadow so i cant say but for umaro, mog, gogo, they only ahd a partial ending (the running out of castle ending) but during the final fight with kefka where everyone says there little part they are excluded and have no say whatever even gau who has a limited vocabulary says something.

I was extremely disappointed with the FFVII ending. It leaves you hanging. The end went downhill when Sephiroth died (hee hee.)

FFVI has the best ending. Satisfactory, settling, and HAPPPPYYYYYY!!!

Second place is FFIX and FFVIII tied. They're both very romantic.

I'm not the type that likes the happy-happy endings (in FF4-6). I'd have to go with either FF7-10 as my favourite endings. I liked FFX because it had the saddest ending from the lot (but FFX-2 has kinda changed my feelings about that). FFVIII & FFIX, on the other hand had the most touching endings I've seen in a FF game. As for FFVII, although i disliked its vague open-ending at first, now I appreciate it much more, since it left the player to decide what happened rather than spoon-feeding us the answer like all the other FFs (until Advent Children came along, which gave us the answers). I also liked FFI's ending, since it had the most vague ending from the lot and was quite confusing about what really happened to the heroes.

I really loved FFVII ending. Because its not really a happy ending. I know that a few people thinks like me, but this is my opinion. I liked the open ending. The way everything was almost destroyed. Of course, if every Final Fantasy had an end like FFVII it would be dull. But, if every FF had an happy ending it would be dull, too.
