Aeris didn't bleed because she was already starting to return to the planet and her body no longer had any blood. Sephiroth killed her in order to stop her spirit from returning to the planet in one piece. When people die in FF7 their spirits are demolished and shattered into millions of pieces, said pieces take a long time to reassemble, and for some, said reassembly never happens before different' pieces of the person's spirit energy become reincarnated into part of the spirit energies of different people or become crystalized into parts of different materia. Aeris was going to return to the planet in one piece, summon Holy to destroy Meteor before it was summoned, and rematerialize into flesh, but she knew that that was not going to be before she even attempted it... Still she tried, for she had faith and hope, and because of that faith she wasn't dispersed as much as she could have been, and becaues of that hope, she reassembled in time to summon Holy, so that she was able to destroy Meteor before Meteor destroyed the world. Though her body was destroyed, her spirit remained intact enough to perform her needed task.

there was blood all over the walls, becuase jenova or sephiroth did something, and what cloud is seeing is what happened...now put yourself in Square's shoes, how would you show that a massacare happened? by sprayin blood...
now why not use blood when he killed aries, well its as chorns said before, the BBFC (in the UK) and whatever there is in the US will rate it 15+ or maybe even 18+...and then only adults will play it!!!

It showed blood when other people died, becuase when they died, they bled out. I don't recall any CG's showing that scene though. So there wasn't any need for blood in any of the CG's.

The one that's hosted on the internet, was one that had the blood edited into it. It was done because someone thought the video would be cooler if it had blood, or someone wanted to fabricate evidence to save face in some stupid internet argument. Some people will go that far. I'll believe it when I see it in an actual copy of the game, or when such material is released by Square Enix. Even if Square did put blood in the original, they probably edited it out for more of a poetic/symbolic reason than any sort of censorship reason. I mean there was shitloads of blood in Final Fantasy Tactics, and Squall bleed in CG in FFVIII, and there were even scenes outside of CG that showed blood. As for the time differences in between FFVII and FFVIII, it's doubtful the censors in Japan or America became that much less strict between the two games. If Aeris's blood was edited out of the Japanese version, then It was probably done for poetic/plot reasons. If they released so many that had the blood, they were probably recalled, or simply left in the field. But I don't believe it, because the first I heard of Aeris bleeding in the Japanese version, was more than 5 years after the game came out. There were lots of hacks, and hoaxes done concerning FFVII. If there was a version of FFVII that showed the blood, it was more likely a pirated version that was edited, because if it were done to appease the censors, then the version that had the blood would have never hit the shelves.

Final Fantasy is an RPG for younger gamers in general so they can't really put blood in it.Still it would be good for the future.Most young kids these days are exposed to violence so it doesn't really matter anymore.

apparently in some real historic legends that particular sword was blood thirsty
there for draining its victims to a nice clean death

as for the shinra building maybe he didnt use the sword

I don't know about the time when he killed Aeris, but when he was in the shinra building, and the sword he had in the flashback where Cloud and Sephiroth dueled, Sephiroth had the Murasame, not the Masamune
