In everything non video game related, magic has a much deeper core (exception materia cuz i thought that was rather decent). When one reads of magic incantations in a book or whatnot, its much more than the simplicit "Fire" or "Quake" or "Whatchamacalit". With FFX we were treated to in game voices and at the BEGINNING and END of the battle a few words and maybe a tid here and there, but why not lets say, when our new FFXII mage uses his/her spell, have them say it BEYOND saying, cough cough, Fire!
No offense, but harry potter has more difficult magical vocabulary.

So who has ideas about how magic could be raised to the next level.

(or at least meet up with some looser ends)

Im sorry that you are both satisfied with the low simplicity of an overly basic system

Prak
07-28-2005, 02:15 AM
And I'm sorry that you're pathetic enough to whine about it.

LoL, I am not going to lower myself into arguement in which you desire Prak. Congratulations on beholding yet another thread within your grips. Kudos. Ending on this, I hope that your unduling, reselient retorts indeed one day conclude to something more than a simple, monotonic, pestilistic response that literally obliterates the objective of any thread. Ruthlessness is a power of only simplisit morals which lead to nowhere of desire. Dare you say that you shall spare us all the conclusions that you have reached in your mind that are so seemingly unworthy of chance upon another view for if so simplicity is only your goal. Goodnight, young Prak.

I quit reading that after "beholding another thread within your grip" because I knew you're trying to sound smarter than you are and are failing miserably. The rest would probably be too painful to read.

Yet again, simplicity fails you. Kudos

Perhaps you're making sense in your own twisted little universe, but not in this one.

Meteora_of_the_fallen

And what is universally undeniable to you? A simple choice?

Meteora_of_the_fallen

I marvel how infactuated with the destruction of threads you are when for most simplicit reason, your own threads bare yet unripe fruit.

Prak

If you're going to try to sound intelligent, proper spelling is required.

Meteora_of_the_fallen
07-28-2005, 05:07 AM
Im not sporting intelligence, but more or less just trying to get through to you that this is not your thread to destroy with your one conclusion that simply doesnt fit with everyones view.

Prak
07-28-2005, 05:09 AM
How would you know everyone's view? No one's posted with a view, probably because everyone else is smart enough to realize that it's more important for a game to be playable than for the magic to seem complicated.

Meteora_of_the_fallen
07-28-2005, 05:17 AM
Im not asking for complications. Fire is a word spoken by cavemen a like. You would think that maybe in some possible future that it would expand just a little beyond that.

Prak
07-28-2005, 05:19 AM
So you want the characters to spend 30 seconds chanting before a spell goes off? Keeping the game flowing is much more important.

Meteora_of_the_fallen
07-28-2005, 05:35 AM
Once again, you simply assume to much. 30 sec would be insane, but the thought of maybe a word that more than one syllable was my intention. Something CREATIVE but simple.

Prak

Such as?

Meteora_of_the_fallen
07-28-2005, 05:42 AM
farenge-fire
esquwia-ice
luramano-lightning

It could be something that se could develope into a rural language, runilogical info, ect ect

Prak
07-28-2005, 05:45 AM
Sooo... you just want the names changed to something abstract?

Meteora_of_the_fallen
07-28-2005, 05:57 AM
No,no,no. Something inuitive and involving such as the aeons were in X. If they can expand on something such as summons, magic can easily be intricly woven into the rural culture or even as VII lightly touch, how magic comes into existance, ect ect

Prak

Perhaps, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it should be. In the end, I think it should be determined based on the needs of the story. If there's no reason to expound on it, then doing so would be a waste of disc space.

Meteora_of_the_fallen
07-28-2005, 06:07 AM
So you are currently agreeing that it is something possible and not entirely a waste of a thread to ponder such possibilities

Prak
07-28-2005, 06:11 AM
Yes, it seems that the intention of the thread was miscommunicated somewhat. The way you presented it made me think that you were talking about having characters make silly chants or mix powders or other crazy time-wasting crap. Still, I don't think it's something Square-Enix should go out of their way to focus on. If it fits in the story, I'd say fine, but otherwise it'd just be a waste of disc space.

No offense, but harry potter has more difficult magical vocabulary.

Harry Potter just uses a derivative of Latin. English is more difficult =/
