I live in europe and i just got a ff xi video demo with a magazine. It has footage of the beta version of the game. It looks wicked but unfortunatley it says that us european gamers will probably never get to play it or any future online ffs coz of sony europes failiure to get the ps2 online in europe. I am very annoyed at this!!!! Also isnt it funny how japanese gamers will probably have ff xi waaaaaaaay before ff x is released in europe. They will be 2 ffs ahead of us. Sony should concentrate on getting ff x out in europe before it concentrates on ff xi.

Man, that must really suck! I feel sorry for you! When you get FF X though, you will not be disapointed, my friend.;)

Ya but there is some good news.
They are releasing ff6 for the ps2 in march over here and it comes with a "two-level playable demo of ffx". Apparantly we get to play in "zanarkland" and "besaid".Are these good parts to the game? Im guessing they are seperate coz ff games dont go in levels. Is there alot of stuff to do in these places coz we will get unlimited time to mess around in them?
My god this is sad, european gaming has really gone down the drain. We have been reduced to looking forward to the release date of a demo of a game which wont be out till next freaking july at the earliest.
I want ff x now.

If you can read English buy the American version it's quite good, but the guide book is almost always needed for the temples, just pay the shipping and you could play long before anyone else does! I think Amazon sells it and they could ship it on over, not sure though.

@ FF_Fan

If I get the American version, ill also have to get my playstation 2 chipped, which would invalidate my warranty, and the external ones cost LOADS!!!

hmm can you get external mod chips that don't involve soldering or takeing apart you PS2 in any way. I ordered a Mod-cube but after looking as what hell you have to go through to take it apart Im not risking it.

Curse Sony had to make there system hard to bootleg/play imports on!

Importing would cost A LOT of money...

Reason:

You have to buy a USA PS2 cause chipping a Euro PS2 WON'T allow you to play imports. It's only useful for DVD movies and playing burned games.

That would net you to about 300+the shipping and all that stuff...

Next is the game itself... same deal: 50 bucks + all that other stuff.

And you will have to buy another TV or get one of those things that lets you play NTSC systems.

If you want to do that... go right ahead.

Translating and all that is a total pain... so erm... yeah.

i guess you are just going to have to wait. that stinks. i hate waiting. how is that preview of ffxi. all i have seen are a few screen shots, not that interested in the game to be honest. oh, and the demo lasts for about 15 minutes of playing. when i got a demo i played it 5-6 times. :D
