Lately I've been hearing about kingdom hearts final mix and from what i've told its Kingdom Hearts 1 with a few changes. My questions are: What exactly is Final Mix? How is it different to Kingdom Hearts 1?

It is like MGS2 Substance is to MGS2 Sons of Liberty. Basically the same game with additions. Final Mix won't see the light of day outside of Japan though.

two keyblades that you receive from beating Sephiroth and Ice Titan, cutsenes like Sephiroth vs Cloud, you gain a keyblade by winning that guy at The desert in Aladin's World and many others

Here is what I understand is different about Final Mix, it's a lot more than what's been said here so far:

- There are many new items and enemies, also, most of the enemies undergo a palette shift.

- There are several new scenes and a new battle with a guy called Enigmatic Man.

- There are a couple new modes of play.

- There's a new bonus ending video --- Deep Dive: Another Side Another Story. (This video is available for download at many sites.)

- Jiminy's journal has been updated --- once you've gained the final information for an entry, the king's seal (Mickey) appears next to the entry.

- There are new minigames involving the gummi ship.

- Various fixes --- changes in the locations of the 101 Dalmatians, the Red Trinity is moved out of the later-destroyed Oogie Boogie manor, etc. etc.

- There are three new Ansem Reports.

I found out all of this over at the Final Mix Changes FAQ (JIS) at http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/516587.html a while back. If you want the full details, you should check it out. It's a lot more than just a few extra keyblades.

Still, it's not worth crying over because of it's exclusivity to Japan.

I suppose --- I understand that some people have imported the game and bought it off of eBay and sites like that and then chipped their consoles or used special software to play it. I myself would be interested in trying that sometime if I ever had some cash to spare.

I`ll try and find the link but the fight scene with Cloud and Sephiroth is pretty damn cool.

I've seen it, it is kinda sweet. You can get it and all sorts of other Kingdom Hearts stuff at http://www.*********.com (formerly kingdomhearts2.net) --- an awesome KH site.

I also believe that Final Mix has English Voices.

Though yes, the changes between Final Mix and the Original aren't as dramatic as Final Fantasy X/X-2.

Yeah but i would have like to fight the secret boss at the end in the cloak though.

Do you mean between FFX / FFX-2 and the respective international versions of those two games? FFX-2 yeah --- I suppose so. FFX --- no way.

Well, FFX-2 was practically a totally different game in the International Version, even added a second game.

FFX added a bunch of new bosses and a new sphere grid.

KH... didn't add too much of anything. :3
