What`s your favorite FF soundtrack?

Mine, personaly has to be FFIX (although closely followed by FFVIII). I thought apart from being a great game the soundtrack was amazing. Nothing beats entering Burmacia for the first time with it`s theme tune play, sheer beauty. Overall i thought the music was far richer and had more substance than any FF before or even since.

I also liked the theme that played when you are at Alexandria castle the time i can't seem to remember i think it's the time when someone is in a prison...all i know is that i liked that theme

Mine was either FF7 or FF10.... can't really decided between those two.

My favorite would be FFVIII. Followed by FFX, then FFIX, then FFVI and lastly, FFVII.

FFVIII had the best music.Some great music in that game.I could give you a whole list.Mind you, every FF had at least 3-4 really good music.

Final Fantasy IX's was the best IMO, just I always listen to it the most over the others.

My fav is FFVI. It springs so many memories and it's amazing how great it sounds with so little they had to work with back in those days. All the other ones fall in 2nd place because i don't know which one i like more.

Sakimoto's done excellent work in the past. There's no reason to think he won't at least match Uematsu, if not exceed his standards.

Mayne sakimoto is better! Nobuo is a little overrated and well how can say he is unlikely better, he maybe is better, i've heard he is excellent and personally i think the change of composer will be a blow of fresh air

Have you heard of Final Fantasy Tactics, Stella Deus, Tactics Ogre, Ogre Battle, Legaia Duel Saga, Breath of Fire V, Vagrant Story, Treasure Hunter G, Radiant Silvergun, Gradius V, Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced? He did all of these scores (Stella Deus, FFT, Ogre Battlle, Tactics Ogre, Treasure Hunter G were done with Masaharu Iwata and FFTA was done with various composers while Legaia Duel Saga was done with Yasunori Mitsuda and *shudders* Michiru Oshima and Breath of Fire V was done with the help of Yasunori Mitsuda at PROCYON STUDIO)

The fact is Sakimoto has been around for almost as long as Uematsu has. He has a more wider discography and is superiorly more respected by VGM fans. His orchestration skills are ultimatly superior than Uematsu and is also skilled and original came into the VGM world with Electronica (which he is also ultimately better than Uematsu at) and collaborates well with Masaharu Iwata and co. Also he has a better english site ;)

I take back my last comment. FF6 is tied with FFT for me

ff7 i think was great, the best was tifa's theme, the simpleness to play it, but how good it sounds, i could play it on piano in 20mins perfectly, it was really nice to play too.

My favourite soundtrack is FFVI, as it has the fewest 'bad' songs to it, then (in order) would be FFVII, FFIX, FFIV, FFX, FFI, FFVIII

Final fantasy 7, the reason this is my favourite is because the music has more character than the other games, rather than simply being better or worse. But also I was wowed more by it since it was my first final fantasy.

Final fantasy 9 comes in second, maybe a little generic at times but if you ignore that it's faultless.

Final fantasy 6 has no bad music in it either, i like ALL the music in this game.

Final fantasy adventure for the gameboy was suprisingly good considering the limitations. I'm glad someone sold their copy to the shop i found it in.

Im going to say FF7 is my favourite because of songs like One Winged Angel and Aeris Theme although its followed closely by FF8's soundtrack.

Final Fantasy VIII's soundtrack has always been my favorite.

I love FFIX's soundtrack, especially the multiple versions of Melodies of Life (I only really picked up on that on my last time through). Can't forget Dark Messenger and The Final Battle either.

FFVIII has some real gems also, mainly Eyes On Me (cheesey as hell, but I can't get enough of it), Fisherman's Horizon and The Oath.

7 by far, Boss music was badass and got me pumped everytime i heard it, And now with advent kids coming out the music in the trailer make me think of the final battle and how much i liked the music!! Cosmo canyon, Aries, so much good shit. BUT i can not stand the gold saucer music, it gets old quick like!

6 had the best music in the series. The Overture, Edgar's castle, Shadow's theme, WoB overworld music, Kefka's theme (:D), and the kickass boss music. :D

The only problem i had with FFX was that it wasn`t a nice mixture of composers. It felt too different, it never sounded the same.

I liked it although throwing Rammstein into it, although I like them, didn't really fit.

This is totally undecidable for me --- there are many pieces from each game that are special for me. However, I have actually purchased the soundtracks for FFVI and FFX, so I guess maybe those are the most special to me? Or maybe not, I dunno...

I'd have to say FFVIII, which comes in first. Followed by FFVII. Who knows, maybe the FFXII soundtrack might just replace FFVIII :).

I ordered the FF10 soundtrack a few months ago and it is fantastic. I have been wanting the soundtrack for years now and now that I've got it and listend to it for a thousand times I stilll can't quite decide witch track is the best. It has to be either track 8 Besaid on the first disk, track 10 Wondering on the secound disk or track 14 ending theme witch is on disk 2.

The only reason i didn`t really like the FFX soundtrack was because of the different composers. I didn`t like how you`d hear a very Uematsu track and then it would lead on to a very different style obviously by a different lesser composer. The mix in styles totoaly put me off although, for the songs Uematsu does do, they are fantastic.

I thought Hamauzu and Nakano's contributions were 10 times more creative and inspired than Uematsu's...

I also like the music when you are on the boat to besade island to kilika port.

What do you think of the rock music at the beginning of the game when Tidus is playing blitzball in zanakand.

Mine would be IX or VIII. Eight because of liberti fataliti or eyes on me and IX because of protecting my devotion or melodies of life

It's a tough one because my favourite tracks range across most of the games from FFIII (NES) to FFX. Overall I'd have to go with FFVII simply because it doesn't have a single track that I dislike, aswell as because every track fits perfectly with the scenarios from the game.

i admit, i havent play yet all the final fantasy games, i just ended X and im moving in to X-2, i already play VII, but if i have to choose, i stay with the ffx soundtrack. Its purely emotional and great, i cant think on a better game soundtrack that i have ever hear before
