What does this actually mean lol?

I read on another forum some guy saying that FF10 is turnbased and that 7,8 and 9 are not?

I thought all FF battle modes were turn based?

Explain please.. :-(

FFX unlike the others there's no waiting time before attacks you dont have to wait for your gauge to fill up before you can attack, you can attack with whatever characters turn it is at that time, how many turns they get is decided by their speed etc

FF4 and up to 9 and FFX-2 are ATB

ATB means Active Time Battle. Basically you had a timer and when the timer expires (or in the case of most FFs, when the meter is full), you'll be able to give an action to your character. Haste and Slow would modify how fast and slow that timer counts down. ATB does not pause unless you choose "Wait" in the options, in which case it'll pause when you're selecting a target or an item or a spell, otherwise it is always active.

FFX uses a system called CTB. CTB means Conditional Turn Based. In this kind of battle, your actions for that character would determine when he'll go again in the order of turns. This is kinda like ATB except the battle pauses for every turn, thus giving the player much more time to think but also making battles somewhat slower.
