I'm not too sure but why dont you try downloading the new driver then if that fails go buy a new graphics card, trial and improvement always works for me.

If you're getting the bad old 'Hardware TnL' errors trying to run FFXI ('TnL' means 'textures and lighting' by the way), then you really need to invest in a new graphics card. Really, anything that is AGP compliant should run FFXI without too much trouble (even old Geforce 2 cards will run FFXI).

Myself, I have a Geforce 4 MX 440 card and it runs FFXI very well (although it doesn't support a few optional bells and whistles, like bump mapping). It also only cost me $50 Australian, and that was over eight months ago, so I assume you could pick up comparable cards for around the same price or even cheaper.

As far as I'm aware, SiS video cards aren't supported on FFXI, (I had a Sis video card on my now defunct, antique P1 200 mhz system), so upgrading is about the only way to run FFXI I'm afraid.

TnL is more of a hardware thing. You're pretty much going to have to purchase a new Video Card. I suggest anything down the nVidia line, the more recent, the better. :3
