Thanks for telling us last weeks news.

Besides, how exactly did they drop the ball? The PS3 is still going to be the powerhouse of the next generation, as the PS2 was of this one. Buying the hard drive separately just means that the initial price (which is already substantial) will be lower.

the PS2 originally deciding to include DVD playback is a big sign of things to come, imho. eventually consoles aren't just going to be consoles, they're going to be media stations as well- it isn't hard to realize this is going to happen eventually, and any company should be trying to take advantage of that if they can.

that being said, it's kinda hard to have extensive media capabilities without hard drive storage.

Kutaragi's certainly never lied to us before about the power of his console. I mean, the PS2 was never mooted to be able to do Toy Story 2 as in-game graphics!

Bullshit. It'll be a lot closer than PS3 fanboys will be willing to admit.
