It's very hard to browse the forum in these conditions, even though I have a popup killer and an ad blocker as well.

Sigh. Third or fourth thread about this issue. I'm a moderator, so I can't do shit about the issue (and I'm pretty sure Jessie doesn't have the privileges required to attempt to fix the issue, either).

Long story short, we're stuck.

using Adblock plus and No Script with Firefox I don't have ANY redirections, popups or other stuff..
I can browse without problems and don't have ANY limitations

Nano adblocker + Nano Defender + Ghostery + Tampermonkey (chrome) or Violentmonkey (firefox) + Adsbypasser script and your set.
Ublock Origin and Adblock seem to be obsolete now.

If you have to install that much stuff, the Web Browser is a failure. As for uBlock Origin, as far as I'm concerned it works just fine, but it's good to have more options. Lastly, this kind of stuff (adblockers) never becomes obsolete, if you take the time to learn how they work and update filters/etcetera accordingly.

I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but I find using the middle click on my mouse to open links instead of left clicking will circumvent the issue for now.

The nano ones are fairly new, they are more relevant than ublock origin. Ghostery is optional. I told you all that I was using to keep my browsing safe and keep a little bit of privacy. Adsbypasser script is really powerful for heavy ads pages when you click somewhere. That's just my setup. I know Ublock O is still working. But given all the new buckler extension. I decided to get the new ones improved and less consuming.

Great tip! Will add No Script to my list of Chrome apps.
I was thinking that perhaps we could report www.roakicat.net for redirecting malware?
Does anyone have a clue about web programming on this forum, with enough knowledge to fix the issue?

FYI, 1Blocker is a great choice for macOS/iOS users. It works with all of the sandboxing introduced in the latest version of Safari and still lets you do hardcore things like refuse any incoming data from a specific web address. I had to scale some of the defaults back because the option "disable comments" makes FFShrine and some other forums nothing but a blank page.

1Blocker disables clickjacking on other sites, but doesn't seem to be able to stop it here. Possibly new code it isn't yet aware of. But at least I'm able to turn the popups into empty pages that don't go anywhere.

The offending code is on the server itself, it would take nothing less than the site owner to remove it.

...It's entirely possible that the site owner put it there.

I've gotten the site back to wworking order. Just required doing some setting changes with uBlock (to stop the pop-ups/redirect attempts) and then the use of a simple small userscript via Tampermonkey to reenable text selection.

It's horrible and makes me not want to come on any more. This is BAD. Just logging in leads to a malware site, then clicking for a forum leads to another pop-up malware site. Ugh.

Not sure what you mean by "can't log me anymore". Are you having trouble with the Username and Password field?

if you use noscript or umatrix, just block scripts on forums.ffshrine.org

This site has always been a bit wonky and dodgy. Logins aren't even done securely.

Use ublock and disable 1st party, 3rd party and in-line scripts. Makes pages usable again.

you can certainly use script blockers to fix the redirects but a lot of download links are going to be inaccessible because the script blocker fucks up the inline code spoiler thing that most people put their download links into

In firefox I managed to get content hidden under spoiler tags to show. Open the menu bar option 'View', 'Page Style', and select 'No Style'.

If the menu bar doesn't show on its own, hit the [Alt] key.

A temporary solution has been found courtesy of Kyle; add the following to your uBlock filter:
forums.ffshrine.org###ad_global_below_navbar
forums.ffshrine.org##script:contains(ismobile)
forums.ffshrine.org##script:contains(showpopup)

Note I say temporary because who knows when the next major fuckery renders this moot.

Spoiler tags don't respond to me, either, and none of the private messages I've sent to people have been answered. Is there some other way to talk to those people? This one guy is working on an isolated score and I have no way of knowing if he's completed the work or not.

For those of you who can't open spoiler tags, try using inspect element in chrome. The links are still there, just have to right click the spoilers, open the inspect tab and do like 2-3 clicks before you find them. :)

The site is currently inaccessible without turning off JavaScript or other aforementioned workarounds. People can see your messages, they just aren't online because not many people will be aware of how to bypass the malware redirect. There really isn't much point posting requests at the moment since it's highly unlikely they'll be seen.

Yay, thanks, I'm alive!

Somehow I got to the site doing none of those things. Maybe it's because my girlfriend's computer is set up differently than the others.

I have seen people post things to threads since the big problem on the 22nd I think it was.

No one can access mailboxes then, huh?

Update: I just checked my computer and I get the same problem as before. I wonder what's different about my girlfriend's computer that it's able to access the site now.

You can still access the site if you disable JavaScript or add filters to your adblockers as described above. That's why there's some people on the site, but not many. Your girlfriend's computer is likely set up this way. No idea if inboxing works as some features of the site are broken when disabling JavaScript (e.g. spoilers), though.

Aye, and because it either isn't obvious how you can bypass the redirect or people don't want to use the site as it's clearly unsafe, the only people who can reply to your posts / messages are the ones who know how. That means there's not really many people on.

Well, I got to the "inspect" part of the method, but then it gives me a whole lot of code and I don't know how to decipher it to get the links. TIA!
