I level up in that sunken ship. But first get the exp. materia in the gold saucer. You can buy it for 2000 points. Good luck....

loL! Tedious ass game. Most adults don't even have enough life time to play a game like this. Something with this many damn instructions/options/strategies can actualy make someone disciplined and successful in real life!!

I agree, the Crashed Gelnika (sp?) is the best place to level up. But watch that you don't accidentally run into Emerald Weapon. That could be bad.

lol i got so addicted to this game i lost the difference between reality and fantasy for a little while, (if you run into emerald on the way and beat him somehow tell me and i will praise you considering your at level 54)

Actually lvl 54 is a fair lvl to beat seph, just donw to your materia really, and emerald is easy is you have the right stuff, KOTR, with mimic should pretty much do any boss in, or if you can't get knights of the round theres a really good strategy guide somewhere on this site titled something like "Fastest way to kill emerald wep" sorry i don't have a link can't be bothered to look atm, might update if u can't find it.

go to the sunken ship or go to the volcano and fight magic jars 10000 exp i think i repeat i think i havent been there in a while you have to have an elexir to battle them

i usually level up in the forest right by mideel. those little bugs give you lots of AP. but even tho it's really annoying, the best place is probably in the Northern Cave

That's true, NC is the best place. Right before you go against Jenova, in that area, there are pisstastic monsters called Iron Mans. They give out 10000 EXP, so it's worth it.

I'm not sure if they appear more than once, though, in one area.

Also - I'm level 58, and I managed to get to what I hope is the 'final' Sephiroth (the one where One Winged Angel is playing in the background and you're basically fighting in the sky) before getting a Game Over. I'm going to be levelling up myself, and I'll try going after him again when I get to level 60 or when my materia gets to the highest levels possible, whichever I'm patient enough for.

i agree that magic jars are the easy way to level up as long as you know the many items cheat

if you are going to fight sephiroth its ok to fight him on a low level because his hp is calculated by your level but if you want to level up that badly fight in the north cave and find those pots they give you a ton of exp and ap

North Pole Crater or the Sunken Ship.

I found the sunken ship best for me. But when i wanted more AP i went to the forest around mideel. I could hit the monsters there once and they would die, so i stuck down a direction button and a camera turn button to make cloud run around in circles on the spot. then i just bashed the confirm button, changed the chanel and let my people do thier thing (training is sooooooo boring) only to flick back in the ads to heal them and save. this method dosnt quite work in the sunken ship.

Yes, Mideel is quite good for AP.

Sunken ship and Northen Cave (pot enemys and orange balls) eaily the best places to level up. Just go at it for hours. It's what i did.

Near Mideel, maybe not the best place for AP but it's easy

The Gelnika is a good place for levels But also the Ancient forest gives about the same exp and the monsters are easier.

I agree with those who said Mideel woods. While you get less exp. per battle, you can get through battles literally 5 - 10 times faster in Mideel than in the Northern Cave or the crashed ship (I average battles at 5 seconds apiece, just equip one character with sprint shoes, slash-all/Flash, and pre-emptive so that person always acts first) and you never have to worry about fighting for your life, so in the end it adds up to more exp. and AP in Mideel in the long run....

I was trying to get a few Master Materia before tackling Weapons, and ended up hitting Lv99 without knowing it. Didn't take all that long either. Only game I've ever hit the level cap on.

you can probably beat him at your level I did. Everyone said you needed to be around level 70 so I thought I would just try and see how well I did and suprisingly I won.

The best place is definately right at the very bottom of the northern cave where the strange plantations are and different music (peaceful)

Thats where i chose to make my save point so i didn't have to move away for ages.

Magic pots give you loads of EXP and AP but you need loads of Elixirs. Movers are rare but give you TONS of AP but no EXP.

EXP+ and GIL+ materia are good here and having a triple slotted weapon helps you master those annoying materias.

Ancient Forest is a great spot and the monsters arew very easy just like OSFM said
