this is my 1st Thread on here and ive been thinking wouldn't it be cool if Final Fantasy 7 was remade, ive got to say its one of the best FF's there is!?

these threads are really getting funny and there are tons or spins offs and a movie...i think that they have gone to far with ff7 spinoffs and i think most people on this site agree with me

These threads are really getting stale and repetitive, just like me saying they are. I'd actually love it if the better Final Fantasy games before this one was released, got remade.

I would like to see Terra or Locke in PS3 graphics style. Not Cloud, or Aeris or Tifa, since there's Advent Children already.

yeah. it's my opinion that Square Enix is going down hill. they are producing crappy game after crappy game. and, the pushing back of release dates is not helping either. ~i miss Squaresoft!!~

FF6 as i was agreeing with "Rinoa Heartilly", but seeing FF7 in such Class graphics would rock, as it is one my Favs

what about the FFIII re-release? that hasnt happened yet and its taking a while
so it crossed my mind that FFIII maybe the one to get a PS3 cut and polish,
but yes i do admit a new FFVII would be visually stimulating and i would purchase it.
If Square did overhaul FFVII it would not be a loss for the company,
Obviously "7" does have a very unique and loyal fanbase to support it.

EDIT: If they are going to re-master FFVII they wont want to rush it,
for instance The soundtrack would sound nice if it was THX 7.1 encoded.

The hardware of the PS3 can be pushed to a far higher benchmark and produce
much higher quality graphics than those seen in the tech demo as the polygons were like sub standard 3d models used for FMV's rendered in real time....

considering it was put together in six weeks it is acceptable,
but for an actual game release i think square would expect higher grade of themselves and push the envelope in utilising the ps3 harware.

so dont expect your remastered FFVII overnight.

Don't remake FF7, then again don't remake any of the classics because square will mess them up, the day i hate FF3 is the day i say screw square.

Here is the thing - everyone says that FFVII is a great game, and that it endures to this day because of its non-graphical qualities - the gameplay, the storyline, etc. At the same time, people who want a remake dont wont the story or the gameplay changed, because of course that would ruin the game.
So, if you consider FFVII a great game aside from the graphics, and all you want in this supposed remake is updated graphics...please explain what purpose that would serve?
Leave it as it is, and start trying to make some quality FF games, not the crap we have seen in recent years.

Why does everyone say FF7 is the best and desperately needs a re-make? It doesn't have FFVI's story or FFX's gameplay. Hell, I had to force myself to finish it at times because I've played much better FF's. The whole point of a re-make is to make better graphics. So if FF7needs a re-make then obviously the classics need re-makes first.

well, i think they should but i think they won`t. Why do i think they should?, because sadly FFVII has suffered over time. I wouldn`t mind a remake if they cleaned it up a little.

the polygons were adaquate from 8 onwards but dwarfed characters who shove buster swoards through there own limbs and heads is not a good look! besides with BC/AC/DC/CC they will find it hard to get good marketing and new players as they will look at FFVII's graphics and think ugh! so seeing as they are restarting the FF7 franchise it would be dumb not to rehash the original and incite newcomers.

and the existing fanbase is enough to rerelease the game it would be good money for square

Just because a game might have a huge fan-base, doesn't necessarily mean that a lot of them are just going to buy it the second it hits the shelves. I always like to think that gamers are smarter than this, and they find out as much info. about a game as possible before they decide to buy it or not. But when it comes to FFVII fans, I don't expect much from them.
