Don't know if this has been posted, so I'm not too bothered if it gets closed because it already has been, but if it hasn't any chance it can be made a sticky?

Anyway, here's my guide on how to get a whole load of AP:

Firstly, you will need the following:

Weapons for your party with at least Overdrive->AP on. If you want to increase your AP even more, customise a weapon with Overdrive->AP, Triple Overdrive and Double AP (Not sure if you can get Triple AP, so I'm saying double because I know you can) The other ability is up to you, but I'd use One MP Cost, or Piercing. The One MP Cost could come in useful, as you'll see shortly.

Armour for your party:

Can have any armour you wish, but if you have enough Mega Phoenixes makes sure at least one person in the battle has Auto-Phoenix on at all time, it does help slightly. (It's not necessary, but can be useful)

You must have captured every monster from every area (not necessarily 10 of them, but enough to unlock Cactuar King and Don Tonberry from the Area Conquest section, in the Arena)

Enough Gil to buy 99x Phoenix Downs (Trust me, you'll need them) and to get into a battle with either Don Tonberry or Cactuar King

Either the Comrade Overdrive (Preferable) or the Stoic Overdrive (OK I suppose but not as much AP)

Now equip your characters and set the overdrive mode to Comrade or Stoic

Enter a battle with Cactuar King for now:

The trick is, if your characters get hit they suffer damage, regardless of if you die or not. This damage charges the overdrive meter's of either yourself and/or the rest of your party depending on overdrive modes. However, this is converted to AP thanks to Overdrive->AP. This is where Triple Overdrive comes in handy, for three times the AP! Then double that thanks to Double AP and that's one hell of a load of AP for just one hit from the enemy!

The only thing you have to watch is the CTB bar on the right. You have to make sure that if it's Cactuar King's turn next, you don't attack him, as he will counter the attack with 10000 Needles then kill a second member with his normal 99999 Needles attack. When a party member does go down, revive him or her with the Phoenix Downs you bought (you did buy some right?) or with Auto-Phoenix, you don't waste a turn! Keep doing this until Cactuar King runs away, or you run out of Phoenix Downs (and people who can cast Life), run away, using Flee, you still get all the AP from the battle!

For Don Tonberry, things are slightly different, he's slightly harder to get AP off as you have to attack him to make him use Karma on you. Do basically the same as Cactuar King but when he gets four steps towards you, Flee the battle, or die.

At the end of the battle look at your rewards, and there you go, a hell of a load of AP, for one battle (albeit that battle can take up to half an hour, but who cares with that much AP, right?)

Any comments or questions? Post in here, or PM me, UltimateFFFan

I don't know about it being made Sticky, it isnt really as comprehensive as most guides.

Good job, I have used this once before, but have since long forgotten about FFX.

Well, I'm thinking of doing some other guides for FFX-2 and I thought I'd have a go at an FFX one first, to see what people think of it

Celestial Armour? I wouldn't call an armour "celestial" just because it's at the top of the list.

Don Tonberry method is better if you can have a character receive 99,999 damage from it. You can choose who is attacking that way. The only character attacking should have Stoic, and the other two should have Comrade and just heal/defend. All three characters get AP this way. The character attacking is recommended to have less max HP so more AP can be gained.

Triple Overdrive + Triple AP works. If Rikku with 360 HP gets attacked with 99,999 karma damage, all three characters can get 99 S. Levels in just one attack. That's less than 20 seconds altogether if you just Flee afterwards.

Celestial Armour is basically Armour with Break HP and Break MP Limits on it, nothing more, although you can add other abilities

If you want to write out a guide and have it stickied, post your thread, and pm either me or Neo Xzhan about it.

I'm not going to sticky this one. We already have an awful lot of guides, and this one doesn't go that in-depth. If you'd like to put more work into it though, you can edit your post, and then pm one of us about it!

Heh, I'm not gonna sticky, for one: there's a buttload of stickied threads already, secondly: this thread returns every few months or so. Just different players discovering the same technique. So this threat will never be far off. =)

I know that, and it's crap armour. It's not practical. I wouldn't call it "Celestial" armour either since there's nothing special about them other than the fact that they're the highest order armour.

You can't add anything to the Celestial Weapons, only the Crests and Sigils can do that. To power them up go to the Starlit Path in Macalania Woods, and talk to the large "bulb" on the branch of the path, after getting the Celestial Mirror and the Crests and/or Sigil's for each weapon.

There's already a sticky on Celestial Weapons, so theres no point me repeating that here

Jewels, I know it's rubbish armour, but it just kind of adds a bit more of a completion feel to the game if you do get it

Well, it's better to have a guide to create the perfect armour for practical uses. Break HP Limit and Break MP Limit are just for aesthetics.
