Does anyone think this game could have been greatly improved with Playerkill?

I mean you could have Wars across great plains, it would be amazing.

Opinions?

If you never played, why do you even show up on a FFXI forum ?

To the OP :

Well, introducing a form of "duel" where it would be possible to challenge another PC and that an ensuing battle would only concur between the two agreeing PCs may have been good. Otherwise, it just doesn't go along with the spirit of the game, which is based on community and teamwork.

I've never played FFXI :( but when I play other MMORPG's, I reserve PK's. The only time I do use them is if a newbie comes and takes all the experience by killing a low HP monster you've been battling for the last 3 hours. Then I smite them, I smite them good

Well, in FFXI, what you decribed is actually impossible to do in FFXI for several reasons UltimateFFFan.

Not only can another player not target a monster that is currently being fought solo by someone else (unless they're in a party together, or the other player first disengages from the mob and calls for help), EXP is actually shared pretty much evenly by all players in a party battle, regardless of how they actually particpated in the battle, but is determined by how the mob cons for the player with the highest level, meaning even WHMs like myself can gain EXP by just spamming Cure spells on the tank. Therefore, you have to keep the levels of the party members relatively even in order to gain the most EXP.).

Finally, there is a kind of PvP mode in FFXI - known as Ballista, but it's more of a mini-game with PvP battles crossed with a ball game, and is more for higher level players - newbies need not apply. (And no, being a newbie myself I don't play Ballista either.)

Of course, you can still do MPKs on players, but you won't earn any brownie points with others by delieberately doing such a thing. ;)

MPK, of course, is against the ToS yo.

They are actually planning some sort of new PvP thing but FFXI is more of a PvE game. Always was and I believe it will always be.
