I've no clue how good this is but seeing RM's "Jesus Doesn't Like Gays" reminded me of it. It's something I wrote whilst thinking about how intolerant some religions can be. There's so many instances where they write a particular group of people off as unforgiveable sinners who deserve only to "burn in Hell". I'm really against that sort of mindset. I'd like to think that if God exists and he/she truly "loves everyone" then he or she would be vastly more tolerant of all people, not completely unforgiving to any that do not live one certain limited way of life. To me, "being a good person" should be enough. As it stands, apparently it isn't.

Anyway. I'm not really sure what to call it exactly so I threw up the BS name in the topic, and it was written with the intent of being lyrics to one of my songs, but blah, blah, here's what I wrote:

Lost inside this horrid dream
Is this truly what it seems?
The earth is violent, no time for rest.
Never forgives. Never forgets.
Relentless form of agony
No hope left for sympathy.

What good is purity when pain is eternal?
Death is merely the start of your torment.
Mindless torture, your past holds no meaning.
You have no say.
Our fate is not to be changed.

Dying slowly every day
Faithless life in dissary
How will we ever truly escape?
Being judged, our only fate.
Doing wrong even when right
Lost in the darkness, lost in the light.

What good is prestige when pain is eternal?
Death is merely the start of your torment.
Mindless torture, your merit is worthless.
You have no say.
Our fate is not to be changed.

Generous, chivalrous
Selflessness, righteousness
Tolerant, temperate
Valiant, innocent
Pointlessly struggling to evade your servitude
Failing to appease He, the misconstrued
