The White-Haired Girl (Chinese: 白毛女; pinyin: B�i M�o Nǚ) is a Chinese opera, ballet, (later adapted to Beijing Opera and a film) by Yan Jinxuan to a Chinese libretto by He Jingzhi and Ding Yi. The first opera performance was in 1945, with Wang Kun playing the lead role. The White-haired Girl uses the tunes of folk music in Northern China, absorbs the opera music and its expression techniques, and draws on the creative experience of Western European operas.

This version of the opera was recorded in 2012 under command of Yu Feng, performed by the Central Opera Symphony Orchestra and the Central Opera Choir
