This is the soundtrack to the PS4 version of SotC. The instrumentation has been changed slightly from the 2005 original and everything has been re-recorded.
This album is not available for purchase in the West.

Thanks so much! I hadn't realised this existed!! (Only that fourth-rate vinyl pressing by iam[eight]bit...)

This has long been one of my all-time favourite and most cherist videogame scores. Thanks for sharing this... and in superlative encoding too! <3

Respect ✌

My most sincere thanks for this most generous share. I was playing this game on the night my grandfather passed away, and it still remains one of the best games that I have ever played. Again, thank you so much.

Nice share, though there is a problem on the track 9 ( 戦いの終り ).
At more or less 30sec, the sound skips a bit, like a physical disc with scratches skipping, but digitally...
I'm trying to see if I can confirm that it's the same over Mora, and will continue listening to it to see if anything else has the same problem.
So apart from the OP coming back to life just for that or me finding a way to clear the problem, beware~

I did a listening test with a friend to confirm this; I could not hear a difference but my friend says she could hear a "skip" between 29 and 30 seconds. The only difference between the Mora file and the FLAC version I uploaded should be the metadata, but if you would like to compare I have uploaded a completely untouched version of track 9 here:

https://mega.nz/#!Lqg0WYAL!RSq7aYJnlYhTaNHCGfe9knJVBJcW6wW_DoNm-gvbY4E

If this file is fine, the source file is also skipping, or if you can find a better version on another site, please let me know and I will do what I can. SotC means a lot to me and I'd like for the best possible version of this album to be available in the West.

Yeah, same problem as when you uploaded it, so it's from their side...
Would be marvellous to let them know so they can fix it (for a website selling "high quality" stuff to have defective ones would tarnish their image =])

It's sad because otherwise, everything else is perfect, and it happens on one of the most iconic tracks from the game...

I have purchased just track 9 from Recochoku (and it turns out that it's a lot easier than Mora, as you only need a VPN and not a Japanese payment method). If this version has no error, then I will re-upload both releases on FFshrine with the track fixed; if not, then I think we can safely assume these sites were provided with faulty source files.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to speak Japanese and sending Mora a message in English would essentially be admitting to breaking their terms of service as they officially only accept Japanese customers.

@Roar of the Earth
Well...

What a tragedy it is, but indeed the source IS the problem as the click is also present here...

Gotta talk to Sony I guess? XD

But yeah, you should find the same file everywhere else until the day it will be fixed (if at all).
Anyway, thanks for you involvement~

I have a little bit of experience in Audio Editing. I will take a look at the file, once I download it, in my pir8 versions of Audition and Izotope RX. Small errors like clicks and dropouts are easy to spot in Spectrogram view and sometime in waveform view as well. Izotope RX has several methods of repair but they only give good results if the damage/dropout is in the sustain secction and not a transition (transient).

For small imperfections like clicks or pops, Audition is really good: just drag a rectangle around the troublesome noise in the spectrogram, and hit Ctrl + U. It is great for 'sanitizing' the imperfections in real orchestral recordings, but take a reaasonably long time to go through a full album throughoughly.

I sympathize with your concern for quality. And it is irritating that so much "Oriental" music is unavailable to Westerners to purchase, or to listen to on Streaming services such as Spotify/Deezer/Tidal/Apple Music. Why would a company not try to expand it's market? Normally that is what capitalists do, constantly trying to grow.

Update: All files pass when run through "AudioChecker", so there is no file post-encoding corruption. Still, the error could have been baked into the source files, so I checked "09 The End of the Battle.flac" in Audition. I cannot see any aberrations in the Waveform or Spectrogram. 29 seconds was mentioned as problematic, but all I can see is a very small click (a vertical line) at 30.1 seconds, normal for classical music. I can try resaving as Flac in Audition or another program and sharing if anyone is still having issues. Perhaps some playback software has issues because the files are 24 bit at 96 Khz Studio master quality? What programs are people using for playback?

@Abramelin
It isn't as "normal" as it wasn't even present in the original release, in the first place =]
That's definitely a problem with the way they offered source files to retailers, sadly.

I listen to everything through Foobar with all adequate settings in it and on the OS.
it would have been so much of a relief if it was really coming from a bad "reading" by a soft, and not natively on the track itself~

why the file size is so big?
i tried decoding it to wav
downloaded flac=2.5gb
decoded wav=2.6gb
reencode to flac -8 -V=1.5gb

P.S. this is not necessary i was just curious.

Other than the file names and metadata, the FLAC files posted here are unchanged from the files downloaded from Mora.
