I'd give it a high 5. Its a great game, but is far from perfect. I'n my opinion no game is perfect, but FF7 is one of the best RPG's ever.

Yes, i reated it perfect becuase of the gameplay and the great storyline. It was a wonderful game in my mind. My favorite and most played Final Fantasy.

I'm going to have to go for option 6. I don't think it's possible to get a perfect game. Final Fantasy VII set the new standard for the RPG when it was first released and bought the RPG to the casual gamer's attention. It became big everywhere it was released, and was lapped up by countries everywhere. I loved the game from start to finish, and I've started playing it again for what must be the tenth time or something ridiculous. A big, big, big BIG thumbs up!

i realy dont agree with you, the standard of rpg's has'nt changed at all... the only that has changed is the graphics and mabye the inclusion of voice acting. :uh?:

ff8 had much better graphics but the rest of it was crap :(

7 when it came out but the graphic quality and midi music is a bit dated so currently a fairly high 6.

The graphics and music are the only things holding it from a 7. Compared to VIII's orchestrated music and IX's movie quality...but it's story surpasses both.

I would go for a middle high option 5 :) It's a great game and has the one of the best stories in the FF world as well as extenend gameplay. so... but a game can always be better. ;)

I give it a 3 or 4. In the middle. It's really a great game, but other games are catching up. (FFX, Valkyrie Profile) It's still on my top 5. Just wish they would have added a little more to it, like Vince and Yuffie cinemas. Maybe ever a few more extra characters that takes me skill to find. *shrugs* Story is perfect though. Gameplay graphics look way better then FF8, mainly because square didn't try to the 'perfect' human look.

I'd say 6)9.1-9.9. It's not perfect, but it's still the best rpg out there.

I give it about a 5. FFVII is my third fav game. FF8 was much better and FFX was better, but it still is an excellent game.

I would give ff7 a 99 ( not a 7 ) because I think that ff7 is super. I thought ff8 was ok ( a really bad OK ) everything in ff8 was good but Squaresoft could've worked on the story more. But I think ff7 will still be one of the bests.

I'd say a high 6. It's not exaclty perfect, but, well, it's one of the best RPG's that I've ever played. Hey, not every game is perfect.^_~

As much as I like FF7, I'd give it a 6, but I'm so tempted to give it 7, but then there is no such thing as a perfect game.

I rate it a 7 because the story line was great the characters had good development......the graphics could be better......and they could get rid of Cait Sith

Yes a 7, because it was my favorite storyline and the characters were just awesome, Cloud was one of my most favorite Characters and Sephiroth was just an outstanding emeny, he was just the greatest iun my mind.

I would rate no. 7 a 7. Yes it is a brilliant game which is now looking a little dated now (no-ones ever said that before, have they?). However though I think the reason why FFVII still has appeal is the sheer amount of things to do within the game, getting a golden chocobo can be a real pain in the butt if you don't know what you are doing, and the amusements in the golden saucer keep you going for ages. In other words there is far more lastibility with no. 7 than any others, although it was nice to see this much depth in the ninth game. Overall if you can get past the graphics and the slightly electronic sounding soundtrack, it is still quite a little gem to play, after all I have played through it eight times in as many weeks, but I haven't done that for a while, as I am still playing 9.:alien:

This game is miles from perfect, just check out any bug FAQ on the game there are loads and loads, but its my fave RPG and in my top 3 best games

Id say a high 5! it was remarkable best graphics of its time music story lenght fun on and on..but like every game it has flaws..not many but enough to not give it a 7.

I would give it a 6 on the list, I mean the game was the most best RPG out back then, it will always be one of my faves too.

8.5 out of 10...the game was great...but not perfect. liked final fantasy 3(or 6) the most.

I gave it a 5. I mean, the game is good and the story line suggests hours of valuable time were put into it, but I still say that it is FAR from perfect.

Storyline kicks ass over graphics anyday. I mean, just look at FF8... Coolest graphics in the world... the plot sucked to hell. They shoulda had me write for him... They all would've been sooo dead.

I would give it more than a 7. Final Fantasy 7 has been my favorite game since it came out. I have played it over and over throughout several years of my life.

I'd give it a 6, it was a very innovative game for it's time, and it has a really good plot, the graphics are kinda choppy based on the new games though, but if you overlook that it is a really, really good game.

I'll give it a 7. FFVII is in my opinion the best game ever!

I'd rate it perfect. FF8 was crap and FF9 was crap. The only reason I don't hate 9 that much is because 8 lowered my expectations to pretty much absolute zero. Eight's bogus storyline and unbelievable characters were an atrocity. And the guy who invented junctioning needs to take a bullet to the head. But... that's off topic; so why do I like FF7? Let me count the ways:

1. Materia!
2. ATB is still in! Screw literal turns!
3. Sephiroth was and still is the coolest bad guy ever!
4. WEAPONs!
5. Beautiful storyline!
6. Incompleteness - allows room for interpretation, which is MUCH better than a full storyline!
7. Less reliant on FMVs (8 and 10 make me throw up with the amount of FMVs in there - haven't played 10 but I've seen it). I like PLAYING the game, not WATCHING it.
8. Those damn summons don't take half an hour to call (looking at you FF8).
9. Realistic characters! I can totally buy into FF7's characters, but FF8 and 9 offered unbelievable characteristics that no human would have.
10. A love triangle handled more appropriately than the BS Quistis-Rinoa-Squall crap that 8 threw in at the last minute.
11. Sweet weaponry - what the HELL is a gunblade?! And those Theif knives BLOW!
12. ...MATERIA AGAIN!!!
13. Aeris... and her.... death. Very emotional and a good motivation to finish off Sephiroth.
14. A final boss that you KNEW EXISTED most of the game. FF8 introduces you to Ultemica like half way through the game and you don't even know who the Hell Necron (or whatever) is until you beat Kuja on the FINAL BATTLE! I'm sorry, but introducing me to the final boss can't be done in the last 2 minutes of the game.
15. No Quina!
16. I like that the final boss has a goal that MAKE SENSE! Why did Ultemica want Time Compression? What the Hell is Kuja's BS "If I die then everyone else should?"?! SCREW THAT! Give me Godship and Meteor!
17. Final Battle between Seph. and Cloud. 1 on 1. Very, very tite.
18. No philosopher Final Boss. Seph just attacked you. Ultemica like gave me her life story while I was fighting her. Reminds me of that retarded battle against Edge's parents in FF4. God that was stupid. "So.. squall... you're killing me....remember... remember your past and stuff...." WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!
19. ....SEPHIROTH AGAIN!!!

like what was said before "it set the standards" when it was made nothing stood up to it.... the only game that i consider that comes close to it is Suikoden. FF8 well i was dissappointed when you get to a point in the game where you cant do ANYTHING!(tactics is coming along)

a stupidly high 6; it's not the best that it could have been (the graphics for an example (why the stumpy hands?)) but it is very addictive and funny, sad, and involving.

to me its perfect i like everything about it i dont like the newer ffs as much as that one

I'd give it a 9 out of 10 or in this case a 6 out of 7. Not perfect, but an excellent RPG. Had some tedious moments like when you HAD to catch the chocobo. Story was great and they did some things like killing Aeris for real that made it more believable. They also made the characters more tangible than in the other games, this is a huge bonus to me.

I'm going to have to say a 7. Personally I thought 8 was crap... 9 was ok. But when I judge rpgs I judge them on story. As in how compelling was it? I still get caught up in FF7's story, therefore its a 7

I say it's more than perfect and I can say that there want be any other game that will reach its level in such gameplay and storyline. I find the graphics are so cool.
