Okay, I'm in for this one. Thanks both for posting. a) I cannot believe it's been 40 freakin' years since I saw this in a theater ?? and b) I have never liked this score. And I already have it on lp, and 2 cd releases. What I'm hoping is that this will be like Goldsmith's Blue Max soundtrack, which everyone also raved about, which I never ever liked, despite being a huge Goldsmith fan and also having it on lp and 2 cd sets. I'd given up on it, too, until it's latest cd version, which somehow did something to the sound that made the music finally seem alive, and with that latest version made it become one of my very favorite Goldsmiths. At last. Hope this happens with this Superman. Fingers crossed. Thanks all yet again!!

Hi all! Yeah, I first of all got them very quickly, because I couldn't wait to hear this in full. Then I thought - all of you on here would like to do it too. So I shared these should have been personal links. Be ware though, ass I am not sure when the files will be deleted automatically on his server. So, two things:
1. If you want to get them through the links I posted above, better do it asap;
2. if the links are dead, I will no longer be asking my friend for new links, as these things take up space on his server and he has to pay for the spaces. My suggestion is that if possible, one of you may continue the mirror on some other sites, like Mediafire or something.

Thanks for a great post...I've ordered mine already, I can't wait to touchdown with this score again since I first bought it as a gatefold double album in 1978 and the Warner Archives/Rhino Records release of the score on the CD format in 2000.

Ok, I'm listening CD1 now and I'm speechless. I own all the previous releases of this soundtrack till date since its my favourite score ever, and this remaster sounds 20 times better than ever before. Clean, crisp, wide, bold and revealing.

Mike Matessino has done the better job of his life, and that's a lot to say considering all the wonderful masterings he has done so far. But "Dracula" and "Superman The Movie" are just OUTSTANDING!

Can't wait to get my copy to be able to read the booklet and liner notes.

In all seriousness, if anyone can afford to purchase this soundtrack legally -- please DO SO. It may not seem like much, but physical sales will help Mike Matessino and company produce future sets. This is a HUGE leap forward in terms of sound quality and completeness. Imagine if Mike could tackle Star Wars or Indy next... If you can pick up a copy from LaLaLand, please DO IT!

This is the best this is ever going to sound, and it's safe to say that I'll never have a need to listen to the FSM nor Rhino releases anymore.

Hi everyone! It's me, David again.
I've stayd up most of the night listening to this score yesterday. And whether you have this on a good speaker system or headphones, this is the best sounding version ever produced!!! I think they've gone all out on this one - plus the Superman II & III compilation. With that set, you not only get the two scores, but also the complete source music for all three films. It's perfectly right that one of the replies state that this LLL release has supplanted the Rhino release, and most of the FSM box. As for Superman IV, in my opinion, I prefer the FSM presentation for its sound. Actually it's exactly the same between LLL and FSM. So the real thing for me would be the two 3-CD sets of the first three Superman films.
OK, and for the download mirror links I posted on page 1. Another reminder that they may expire at anytime. In order for this to be alive, I would highly ask you guys, who have downloaded the soundtrack to continue posting mirrors once my links are down. I will no longer be asking my friend for faster links, as this is on his server and he has to pay for the storage space and traffic.
Under the light of this situation, if one of you finds out that the links are dead, please send me a PM and I will modify that post to remove hints of the links.

Fully agreed. I think this is the best sound I've ever heard on a remaster. Apparently Mattesino worked with the tapes from the original recording sessions with LSO. It doesn't get better than that. Sounds better than a lot of supposed Hi Res files out there.

If only LLL Records were that good at shipping. I purchased it feb. 22nd and my order still waiting for shipment :( Its my first purchase with LLL, do you know guys if that's the usual speed of their shipments? I bought Williams' Dracula from Var�se and they shipped my order the day after.

Listening to this is an absolute joy.

That's right. The sound is incredible, it almost sounds like it was recorded yesterday.
This is truely a definitive edition. Thank you all for this.

A second Thank You! now that I've had a chance to listen to some of it. Have to agree with all those comments above. I think the same thing has happened here as had happened with Blue Max in its various early incarnations: the sound on the Warner and Rhino cds is just Bad. Can't believe Lalaland pulled off such a fine remastering for a change, but this sounds really, really nice, and has some great Williams music in here, tho' I have always hated the Stooperman march itself (just my tastes) (and now the stupid thing is stuck in my head), I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying the rest of this soundtrack. Finally. Now, despite the march, am I going to have to buy this thing all over again? For the 4th time??? Seems so. Sigh.

Yes, I have many terrible versions of many soundtracks, each one purchased with the hope that finally one will sound the way it was meant to sound: Goldsmiths, Poledourii, Williams', Lord of the Rings, Goldsmith Star Treks that sound like they were mastered in dumpsters... but eventually, like this Superman, usually someone finally gets there in the end. And the also-rans go into a box in the attic if they have some nostalgic value or to GoodWill. Somewhere in the south Pacific there is probably a floating island composed solely of horrible sounding dvds.

I've missed the Friday the 13th Parts 1 to 6 boxset too, and I've been buying them separately on another site that uses to import from LLL too, but even them seem to have problems getting material from LLL lately. Waiting for part VI too to complete the collection, hopefully this year. I'm crossing my fingers to get my shipping notice next week :)

A huge thanks for the share, I was wondering if the sound improvement from that mastering was worth it.
Obviously, the previous incarnation from the 2000's cannot compete. I find it amusing to realise Matessino and La-La land released nearly 90% of a ten year old compilation he produced for Film Score Monthly. Should we expect a release for the animated series now ? :)
