Kenny, you are welcome :) I am actually searching for the complete soundtrack of "On The Town", I am sure that it still exists in the MGM vaults.

He directed singin in the rain, one of the greatest movies ever made, at 27!! yet hes rarely talked about as a genius. Well for those of us who have studied films we know making a musical like SITR is more difficult than making a movie like citizen kane, however groundbreaking and grand it was. Welles was obviously a genius, but making a musical so full on like Donen did at that age? thats staggering in my books

Whenever I feel down or I want to rediscover the best in human beings I watch singin in the rain, its a movie that makes you fall in love with life again, Donen joie de vivre will always remain encapsulated on that film. Its a very creative and imaginative film, but its also a film made by a decent person filled with humanity that trascends the screen and gets into the viewer. To make a movie like this its basically the dream of any filmmaker, more than a movie, a life changer, an experience.

So although hes no longer with us, its not a platitude to say part of him, probably his best part, will always remain with us

I can't make the case for how great the movie score to the film "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers" really is. Underscore composers,arrangers,orchestrators or any kind of contributors that you care to call them receiving no onscreen credit were none other than Adolph Deutsch,Conrad Salinger and Alexander Courage. That should be the first clue.

Oh yeah,this films sole Academy Award win was for best musical score. No coincidence.
