Nikos, a penniless and slack Greek student settles in Rome to study painting. The handsome young artist lives in a boarding-house run by the divorced Elda, a woman in her early thirties, with whom he immediately embarks on an intense love-affair. Lisa, Elda's young mute sisteris always lurking somewhere in the background casting sheep's eyes at Nikos. Accidentally, the womanizer student gets acquainted with young blond girl named Anita, daughter of a well-off art-gallery owner, who proffers her services to him (not only to get his works exhibited). While Elda's jealousy is growing, Nikos enjoys his new bohemian life and gladly accepts Anita's invitation to spend a few days in her Villa in a Greek island village at the coast of the Aegean Sea. Gloria, an attractive photographer friend joins them and they are also taking Lisa on the trip that hints at the tragedy lying beneath the surface. Suffering from hopeless love and jealousy, Lisa shoots Niko into the heart.
