I think that blitzball in FF10 was definatly(spelled right?) the best mini game.As for the side quest, probabily the chocobo hot and cold in FF9.

I'd have to agree with Blitzball and Chocobo Hot and Cold, both were excellent, however one thing still annoys the hell out of me in Blitzball - when you pass to a team mate who is behind you ( I often do this when there are two people near the goal and Tidus doesn't have the ball) and for some reason the defenders can try and get the ball, even though you threw it in the opposite direction!

for one thay should of stop making FF's after 9 because there was never a sequal tell FF10 and i fond that gay, but mini games (huh) there are more in FF7 but i do enjoy the treasure hunting when you are riding your chocobo in FF9.

Blitzball was good in FF10, to begin with atleast. Once you got a good team its way to easy. More so if you get jecht shot (from that thing on the boat with memories) the whole thing becomes poinlessly easy, i managed a win againt the luca goers (spelling?) 4-0 and with a little training started winning games= insanly high score - 0. Its just, get the ball to tidus and shoot! because even if hes blocked by multiple people and is a far distance from goal he ALWAYS scores with Jecht shot. But this didnt make it not fun for me- just a little disapionting.
One thing that did make it super fun though was when against the Ronso's they move so slow getting there whole team to follow your ball carrier who they cant catch- now thats one stupid team :-P
Then we come to the card game in FF9. Now thats a good game:) The way certain cards are more effective then others and your cards grow in power if you use them lots AND you get given a rank. I really enjoyed that game. :D

06-19-2005, 09:49 PM
At first my blitzball team was a one man team, Brother and then tidus came ever so slightly up the ranks and the rest was left in the dust.

Yeah, it's name is triple trial (or triad) and it is a lot better that tetra master.
Blitzball is the worst mini game ever

Wattson
06-26-2005, 11:21 AM
I enjoyed Triple Triad a ton. It was really fun going around, collecting cards, and playing. Unfortuantley, it was incredibley unforigiving on the rules (I got to a point where it was pretty much impossible to play) if you're new to the game...
Tetra Master got fun when I learned how to play. It was still a little iffy though...

Blitzball was fun at first, but after like 15 matches tops, it's basically just the same stuff over and over again, and the clunky controls got annoying.

Tidus 66
06-26-2005, 02:57 PM
The problem of the Triple Triad was that the Random Rule never seemed to go off, i lost a bunch of rare cards, also without open the games is hard!, and for begginers the same wall, plus e combo was so frustrating

Desert Wolf

I tried that but when I was trying to get Edea it took me ages to get it.I lost a lot of rare cards and decieded to try and win them back knowing I could just reset if I didnt, but then I won Edea after playing loads of matches and didnt feel like doing it again so I just left the place.Dosent matter though I started a new game. Not for that reason though! Its a good game.

When the Random rule wasn't in place, Triple Triad was the best. Blitz was great until you signed Brother and got Jecht Shot for Tidus. After that, it would look like a lopsided American football score. Stuff like 33-0. Especially against those dipstick Ronsos. I still haven't gotten the hang of Tetra Master, LoL, but it's not so bad, either. FF7's best point was the Gold Saucer. Chocobo Racing was great.

As for a side quest...in terms of rewards go, the Omega Weapon side quest in FFVIII and Chocobo Breeding in FFVII were the best. Eden and KotR, respectively. But for fun and such, I liked the Mognet quest (FFIX) best.

Ah, Tetra Master the ultimate time-waster. I've been playing it lately myself. To quote the Tetra Master FAQ at GameFAQs:

"There wasn't, isn't, and never will be any kind of tangible reward for playing Tetra Master. You don't win items, gold, hidden FMV's, or even fame by reaching the top collector level. The reward for putting in the hard hours required is absolutely zip, zilch, nada, nothing, nil, zero, the big goose egg, total and complete vacuum - a veritable oblivion."

And on how the Tetra Master game plays out:

"You place your cards on the board at random and your opponent randomly puts his cards down causing random cards to flip over at random, leading to the random card battle which is apparently won completely at random. In the end, one of you wins. At random."
