Hey everyone! Newbie to this site here! I have a couple questions about the games Final Fantasy Legend and Final Fantasy Legend II - both for the Nintendo Gameboy...

1. In both of these games, mutants can acquire magic via natural ability and spells bought in stores. Which is more powerful - natural magic or store-bought magic?
2. In Final Fantasy Legend II, some magi can be used to increase certain abilities (Strength, Agility, Defense, and Mana). If a characters ability score is maxed out at 99, does the magi increase that ability or does it cap out at 99?
3. In Final Fantasy Legend, the maximum amount of points in the four abilities is 99. If the player uses an item to increase an ability, does that ability score go beyond 99, or is it capped out?
4. Where can I find online codes with either Game Genie or Game Shark for Final Fantasy Legend or Final Fantasy Legend II?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks so much!

Welcome!

Sadly the FF Legend games are not actually true FF games at all, they're actually part of Square's SaGa series, which Square's US division tacked the FF name onto them to increase sales in the US (in the wake of FFVII's release in the late 90s). So they don't really belong in General FF (hence I moved the thread to Role Playing Games).

Accordingly I have little exposure to them so I can't really answer your questions I'm afraid. GameFAQs may be a better help however.

Good luck either way! :D

First mention of FFL I've seen in literal decades now. I'd passed those off as having been so obscure, even the major FF enthusiasts skipped them. That said, it's impressive to see someone bring
it into the mix here.

Moment of truth; I actually had a mate of mine go out of his way a year or two following FFL's JP release to obtain a copy for me, thinking it was FFVII, or at least a scaled down version. Hardly someone who followed the series, so needless to say it was not what I was anticipating. The copy I was given didn't even work. I've never even turned up an emulator for it since. But I can at least lend a bit of aid.

This page is total gash. I know this isn't all the codes that could exist. But, here's one: http://www.gamegenie.com/cheats/gameshark/gbcolor/final_fantasy_legends.html

A tad better, this one for FFL2: https://www.gamespot.com/final-fantasy-legend-ii/cheats/

Interpol should be banging on my door within the hour for this one, but here it is anyway: http://viper.shadowflareindustries.com/antigsc/index.php?codes&dev=gs&system=gameboy&game=ffl2/ff2legendmisc

Oh look, a fellow VBulletin subscription, thinking it can hoard all of these morsels for itself: https://wescastro.com/codetwink/cheats.codetwink.com/gb/view/146/default.htm

This is the best I could dig up. I apologise if some of these are rather scarce, but it's a start. Best of luck!

Hey guys! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! And I apologize for taking so long to respond. First, I get the picture that Final Fantasy Legend I and II are not really part of Final Fantasy. From what I have played, I can see that one. Thanks for pointing it out! I went to Gamefaqs, but the page for these two games are so old, I doubt anyone would be checking them or posting at all. As for the codes that B@d@pple posted, I looked at them, and honestly I had done a search before I even came on to this forum so the codes and pages you posted, I have already seen. I guess I might have to give up on these two games. Bummer.

Well that blows. I knew in the back of my mind the likelihood of you having scanned the same links I turned up was high.

The codes are the best I could do. Can you specify what you were trying to accomplish? I may be able to dig a bit deeper with more info.

Well, to be honest I have completed both games but want to do another play-through. And one thing I haven't done in these two games is play them with all of the stats and hit points at maximum. I may have done it with Final Fantasy Legend - it took a while, if I recall correctly - but never achieved in Final Fantasy Legend II. I figured it would be cool to play through them both with all stats and hit points at their max. That was my ultimate agenda!

So, you're wanting codes to max your stats? I suppose this (https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/585710-final-fantasy-legend-ii/63172956) board may have a bit of advice, as would this (https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/585710-final-fantasy-legend-ii/59250657) one.

But, I'd imagine if it's codes you're looking for, this (http://gameboygamegeniecodes.blogspot.com/2012/07/final-fantasy-legend-ii-u.html) may be a better bet. These ought to get you off to a smashing start, at least, so you can power through, but I can't seem to find any that specify max stats. Still searching, though. I hope this can be of a bit more help than the others.
